Looking for somewhere to brunch and we ended up at Bar Louie. It was a 45 min wait but she told us we can find a spot at bar til our table was ready. Sat at the bar for about 10 min before the bartender, who walked pass 4 times even acknowledged us. When he did, we asked for bottomless mimosas. He pours our glass which tasted like just OJ by itself. We drank that. Another 10 minutes pass before another bar tender walks pass. She refilled our glass. We wait another 10. I told my cousin, ummmm is this how this is about to go. I didn't pay $30 bucks to get a refill every 10-15 min. So I asked the lady waitress was the guy the only one at bar? She said I'm working that end and he's working this end. I said well he can't be. He hasn't been back over here. Looks like he making drinks for that side. She apologized and said I told him he has this side too. I said, as she is as refilling my glass, can you fill it up if I gotta wait 10 minutes for another glass. She smiled and said sure, I'll just leave a jug. Went to bathroom and came back our table was ready. We sat down and told the new waiter to keep the mimosas coming. He said I was told we were out. My sister said, no we just left bar and it's plenty. He said I was just told that. We said and we just left the bar showing him our receipts. He said I'm not doubting you that you were at the bar. We just stopped serving them. Next thing you know we see a waitress at bar pouring more. We got Jonathan's attention. He came to filled our glasses. Later while sitting there, he made a comment to us, I knew we had more I just didn't want to offer it to you. Our mouths dropped. Welp, there goes your tip! Theeee audacity ‼️The loaded taters were 🔥. I'll come back as long as I don't have Jonathan as a server and more bartenders working.

I went to Bar Louies with a friend from out of town. I wanted to show her our food scene. This restaurant was highly recommended to me by another friend. We were seated quickly and given menus. Our server was training and introduced us to the trainee. They were both very nice. I started out with a water and my friend asked for the tropical tea. Our server informed they no longer offered it. So, my friend got a water. ( My thought was that if something was no longer offered that it should be taken off the menu). I ordered the All nighter burger medium rare and a side of mac n cheese. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and fries. When our food came my meal looked amazing. When I took a bite of the Mac and cheese I noticed a long red hair wrapped through out the dish. We looked for our servers and they were clusters in the back talking with some of the bus boys. It took them a while to come over and check on us. When they did she was very apologetic and took the plate back. I assumed the whole meal would be remade for quality assurance. When I got the meal back it looked liked transferred my original burger onto a new plate with a freshly made Mac and cheese. The only reason I mention this is because the burger is made with a sunny side egg. It must have broke during the transfer. The egg was alittle dried out by the time it got back to me. My friends buffalo chicken wrap was also disappointing. She said the buffalo sauce was very acidic and hard to eat. She didn't finish it. The atmosphere was really nice and the servers were pleasant. But not worth a $20 disappointing meal.

This place is so good that we ate here twice in one day!! We were here in the area for a couples weekend away. With no set plans, we decided to start off at the “Streets of St. Charles”. This area is cute and offers a lot of options for food. We picked lunch at Bar Louie. It was nice because we didn’t have reservations but were seated right away for lunch despite a fairly busy restaurant. Menus are digital so be prepared. I actually don’t mind it but I’m sure there are people who might request a physical menu. The waitress was at our table taking drink orders minutes after being seated. She was friendly and made great recommendations. Everyone at our table loved the food and drinks here. The potstickers were my favorite appetizer but the pretzels were also really good. The flatbread was delish and my husband had the chipotle chicken tacos (raved about them). We were so impressed with lunch that we were back for a late dinner. The late-night meal did not disappoint either. The staff was punctual, friendly and I didn’t see a displeased table at either visit. Bar Louie St. Charles, you’re the upscale bar and grill without the high prices or stuffy atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

As a food enthusiast, I was excited to try out the much-hyped gastrobar that had been receiving rave reviews. However, my experience left much to be desired. From the exorbitant prices to the long wait times and lackluster ambiance, my visit to this gastrobar was underwhelming at best.

First and foremost, the prices were simply too high for what was offered. While I understand that gastrobars are known for their unique and creative culinary offerings, the prices at this establishment were unjustifiably steep. The portion sizes were small, and the quality of the ingredients did not match the exorbitant prices. I found myself constantly checking the menu to ensure I wasn't mistaken by the prices listed. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hefty price tag.

Adding to my disappointment was the long wait time. The lack of communication and updates from the staff regarding the delay was frustrating, and it significantly dampened my dining experience. It seemed that the restaurant was understaffed, resulting in slow service and prolonged wait times.

Furthermore, the ambiance of the gastrobar fell short of expectations. The overall vibe was lackluster, and the atmosphere did not exude the cool, trendy vibe that was promised. The interior decor was uninspiring, and the seating arrangements were cramped, leaving little privacy for diners. It felt like the establishment was trying to cash in on the gastrobar trend without putting in the effort to create a unique and memorable experience for its patrons.

In conclusion, my experience at this gastrobar was subpar. The overpriced menu, long wait times, and lackluster ambiance left me disappointed. While the food was decent, it did not justify the hefty price tag. I would hesitate to recommend this gastrobar to others, as there are many other options in the area that offer better value for money and a more enjoyable...

Title: A Sublime Experience at Bar Louie

Rating: ★★★★★

Walking into Bar Louie felt like stepping into a haven of gastronomic delight. From the moment I crossed the threshold, it was immediately apparent that this was a place where quality, warmth, and customer satisfaction are valued above all else.

The manager, Paisley, was an absolute beacon of hospitality. Her professionalism and kindness were readily apparent as she catered to my every need with ease and grace. Paisley went out of her way to ensure my experience was comfortable, enjoyable, and unforgettable. She was more than a manager; she was an ambassador for the exceptional service ethos Bar Louie clearly upholds.

The bartender, Mikayla, at Bar Louie was nothing short of fantastic. The drinks he concocted were not only visually appealing but tantalizingly delicious - each one a symphony of flavours that danced on the palate. His charisma, knowledge, and skill behind the bar made my evening even more enjoyable.

The service at Bar Louie was remarkable - attentive without being intrusive. The staff was diligent, courteous, and enthusiastic, making me feel genuinely welcome and cared for.

Onto the food - oh, the food! It arrived piping hot and delicious. Each bite was an adventure, offering a delightful blend of tastes and textures. The portion sizes were generous, satisfying my hunger while leaving me yearning for more of their culinary magic.

In summary, Bar Louie is a vibrant gem with an infectious atmosphere, remarkable staff, fantastic drinks, and undeniably delicious food. Paisley and her team have created an inviting ambiance that is absolutely refreshing. This place is not just a bar or a restaurant - it's an experience that has quickly made it my new favorite place to go. If you've yet to visit Bar Louie, you're missing out on something truly special. I can't wait for...

After a series of disappointing visits, we almost gave up on not only this place, but going out to eat in general—until Tuesday's burger night completely turned our experience around. Having worked in the service industry for 8 years, I know firsthand how challenging it is to maintain consistent, quality service, let alone find exceptional staff. That's exactly what we encountered with Derick, our server.

From the moment we were seated, Derick’s warmth and enthusiasm were evident. He greeted us with a smile that felt genuine, and throughout our meal, he was attentive without being overbearing. It’s rare to see someone so passionate about their job, and it was clear that Derick takes pride in what he does. He not only made us feel welcomed but made the experience feel like something special. His energy was infectious, and by the end of the meal, we were already planning our next visit—not just for the great food, but to see Derick again.

His professionalism was matched by his compassion. As someone who knows how tough it can be to keep a team motivated and provide great service under pressure, I have a deep appreciation for the effort he put in. Derick’s attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile truly revitalized our view of this restaurant. We felt seen, heard, and cared for in a way that’s often hard to come by.

Derick truly deserves recognition—he’s one of those rare gems that make a difference, and it’s employees like him who remind us why we should keep supporting the service industry. I hope management takes note of his incredible work ethic and passion, and I firmly believe he deserves praise. There aren’t many Derick's left, and his presence has made us want to return time and time again.

Thank you, Derick, for making a tough week a little brighter....
