I had wanted to try this place for a very long time. A friend, my daughter and I happened to be in the area for an event so we went here after. We orders two sharables which gave us 4 small plates to try. We chose the crab rangoon, BBQ pork nachos, Korean BBQ and Hawaiian - we figured that would give us a nice sampling. The staff was very friendly and patient with us taking our sweet time to figure out what we wanted, asking all the questions etc. The restaurant itself wasn't what I expected.... more like a qdoba type place than a sit and have a restaurant experience type place (that was my bad for assuming it was something it wasn't). So for the food..... We were all pretty disappointed overall. We will start with the best one - all three of us rated the Crab Rangoon Nachos the best of the 4: tasted like they should, had the right amount of topping, chips were crisp. As for the others we were pretty disappointed in all of them for one reason or another. First the meat on each one - none of the meat alone had much flavor. the BBQ pork you would expect to have a nice juicy smoky flavor but it was pretty dry and flavorless. the Hawaiian had the chicken which we expected again to be juicy and possibly a smoky pineapple type flavor but it had no flavor at all - in fact, before we tasted it, one of us thought it was the crab meat because it looked more like what you would see out of a grocery store can of crab meat (VERY VERY SHREDDED) and last the Korean we expected to taste well - like Korean BBQ meat. It did not. The other toppings all seemed fresh. The chips were crispy on each. We were just all very unimmpressed with the food flavors. All of us concluded we would not be back if given a choice. Such a disappointment because we had such high hopes for this place. Like others have mentioned the pictures look 10X better than the food...
Read moreThis place was really good, I thought originally it's just nachos from the ballpark, but no there is so much more thought that went into these menu items. Not only is the food good but the customer service is top tier, the management hired the right people at this place.
I am vegetarian but occasionally if there is some meat in the dish I will not make a fuss. So when I asked the associate for a meal with 'impossible meat' she started to grab the containers and stopped for a moment to switch her gloves without being prompted or asked to do so. (I thought to myself maybe that is how they do it for everyone.) She then continued to do her part of the 'assembly line' of my meal. When she handed it over to the next associate, who had just finished someone's ballpark meaty nachos, she whispered to him and I watched him go and change his gloves...I stopped and said "Thank you for being so considerate to think about the meat juices being on your gloves before touching my meatless option." She explained "My mom is a vegetarian so I know how that is and I always think, 'if that was meal for her how would I make it'" long story short, I wish I remembered her name to recognize her, but she is a great asset to your organization.
And anyone deciding if they should go or not, if they are that willing to take care of a meal like that, without even me asking, you will enjoy whatever you get,...
Read moreWhere do I start? My favorite place to eat this past weekend. We had it twice while visiting St Charles. The staff is wonderful and recognized us the next day. Happy to hear we enjoyed it so much. I had the veggie on rice both times but chose the crab Rangoons cheese the second time and I’m so happy I did that as it real creamy, less salty but still cheesy. Snack size was perfect for all of us and it’s a generous portion. The soda fountain is also great as it had unique options which were sugar based and not corn syrup so lending a refreshing taste to the drink. Hubby had the chorizo nachos the first time and said the flavor was good but a bit on the greasy side. Seconds time he had the Korean bbq and enjoyed it a lot more. The seasoning and kimchi were delicious. Our daughter had the big kid nachos and said it has good flavor but the cheddar cheese was a bit salty towards the end. I can’t wait to visit again and happy to hear they may franchise our direction. Can’t be soon enough. Till then we will be back on the next trip to St Charles....
