My wife & I have frequented Starbucks from Key West to Hawaii. We have never ever been to a Starbucks where it takes longer to heat a chocolate crossaint pastry than to make 2 venti hot lattes...and much much longer (10-15m) so much so my lattes were cooling down. It appeared the food handler was coming & going from his station and was getting way way behind. I decided I would help out & said to the cashier that I would now take the crossaint cold so to save the store & us time. I then found out why there was so much delay. The food handler who had a pastry bag & tongs on his hand and was about 24 inches from a cold crossaint in the display case proceeded to recite (babble actually) all the reasons why he was behind and instead of taking 7 seconds to hand me a cold crossaint and say sorry for your wait...have a good day....! again proceeded to babble about that I would ha e to go to the other end of the store & he would bring a cold one too me. Frustrated I did go to the other end of the store where by the way a ton of customers were waiting for their warmed up products (while their lattes got cold) after another minute or so he came all the way over to the other side of the store where I was standing with a cold crossaint and smuggly announced my name and said "CrossIant" like he was delivering it on time or something and holding it out to me. I could not believe the waste of time & the attitude towards a customer that just wanted to save him time. I was a frustrated Customer that now had a cold crossaint AND cold lattes. I said Thank You! rather loudly and grabbed the bag to end the experience....but Oh No! the Starbucks representative proceeded again to babble about he did notice the way I grabbed the bag...and I could not treat employees that way...and I made the comment that (other than the latte makers record- time buthey got cold waiting on this guy) they should not provide service this way. He continued to babble & I was tired of his attitude & obvious ineptness AND very poor judgement wasting all of this time as the store was so so busy. Taking 7 seconds & bagging me a cold pastry right in front of him & we would have both had a better day but his decision like his ood warmi g process management decisions caused at least another 5 to 8 minute delay for all customers. As a customer I try to provide feedback to the companies to know what is going on. Wife & I are still deciding how it will affect our future use...
Read moreThe parking lot is the most horribly designed one I have ever seen. The drive thru gets up to 15 cars deep which wraps around the building. The cars block off all the parking spots, so you can't get in or out unless someone is kind enough to let you back out. Sometimes there is no more room in the drive thru line because it's so long you would be blocking traffic on 5th street if you got in line. I never order anything complicated, but they always seem to get it right. One manager was even kind enough to comp my food because of the wait time in the drive thru. Once I left my debit card there and they kept it for me without issue. HOWEVER, you will spend a minimum of 20 minutes waiting for your drink. Even if they are empty. I am standing there and waiting for my drink and half the employees are standing around vacuuming up coffee beans and wiping down counters instead of making a simple drink! If you are ordering online, do not believe the wait time. Use this formula instead. Take the minimum wait time, multiply it by four, and add two. (For instance, if your order says "ready in 4-7 minutes," it will actually be ready in 18.) I think it's because they do not properly train employees and they have a very high turnover rate. In the drive thru, the average wait time is around 4-5 minutes a car. Take this into account if you're getting a latte on the way to work. If you order inside, the line is atrocious. They seem to heavily favor drive thru orders over online or front counter orders, for whatever reason. The inside is always clean with good seating both inside and outside, although it can get a bit cramped on the weekends. They do not put your online orders on the online order counter most of the time, so you have to manually check the labels on the sides of the cups until you find yours. ALL of their food is made off site. They simply warm it up. Do not order breakfast food past breakfast or lunch sandwiches past lunch: they are old and stale. I do enjoy the banana nut bread, although it's incredibly fattening, and you have to request that they not heat it up...
