Nick's Country Oven St. Clair Shores — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

Maybe dining in in better but I’ve ordered DoorDash twice. The taco salad is literally hamburger meat without ANY taco season so you’re basically eating hamburger, lettuce and tomato’s. I will say the shell was good.. definitely disappointing after the price I paid. Next time I ordered I figured I’d give them another chance because maybe the taco salad just wasn’t it. I got a stir fry and paid close to $6 for a cherry pie. Hospital food isn’t as disappointing as this was. The cherry pie was disgusting. How can pie be gross? Lol. Here was me thinking maybe.. just maybe they don’t do good on DoorDash orders on purpose because there’s no tip involved except for the driver….

This morning my daughter asked if we could get carry out from this place because they had crepes. Knowing I’d be disappointed I didn’t ask my husband to order me anything. The crepes weren’t terrible but definitely not as pictured and advertised and there was hardly anyyyy filling in it. (I’ll include a picture) my husband of course over ordered and got himself a skillet, our son some eggs and sausage and me biscuits and gravy. The skillet was mediocre (you can get better quality at Detroit’s finest Coney Island for the same price) and my son kept asking for Scramblers ( the breakfast place that closed which should say a lot) he will eat anything too… the biscuits and gravy were probably the best thing I’ve had from this place and the biscuits aren’t the greatest but they work. Wish my whole DoorDash theory was true but unfortunately even with take out and a direct tip it was still...

Stopped in for dinner around 6:30 on a Saturday night. Parking lot was very full, so we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and were quickly seated in a booth. Server(s) were quick and very pleasant. Beverage orders were quickly taken and we perused the menu, which had a wide variety of selections, and a specials list. Wife selected the chicken pot pie, which came with salad. I had the grilled liver and onions, which came with salad and baked potato. Salads, with house Greek dressing were crispy cold, fresh and very tasty. Wife's chicken pot pie was huge and very flavorful. My liver was cooked medium rare, exactly as I requested. Delicious! Just as noteworthy, the potato was nicely baked and fluffy, not soggy and gummy like it had been in a steamer for hours. YAY! Love me a good baked potato! Service was quick and friendly, without hovering. All in all a great experience, at a very reasonable price....

I come here today for the first time. It was comfortable and cozy. Upon seating, we were immediately met with water, which was quite pleasant! I ordered the white fish, and it wasn’t what I was expecting but I was going to power through and eat it bc I hate being that person… (iykyk). One of the waitresses by the name of Theresa approached me to ask if I liked my food. I hesitantly said yes but she could tell that I didn’t like it. She asked again until my partner let her know I wasn’t enjoying it. She reassured me it was ok that I didn’t like it and made the experience much more comforting. Gwen, our waitress grabbed me a menu and removed the plate from in front of me. Theresa and Gwen made me feel a little less embarrassed. They were attentive and aware.. something that most restaurants lack these days! Thank you guys for such an amazing experience & I can’t wait to come back soon, to try out the rest...
