It was raining hard here when we arrived. It said seat yourself, so we did. Our waitress came over and asked us what kind of drink we would like, we would like to order too She said ok. We ordered fish and chips, kids mini hotdogs with mac and cheese, chicken nuggets with onion rings and 2 grilled cheese. The server came back with our drinks and said she asked the cooks if the could clean off part of the grill to make sure when they made the grilled cheese it did not contain burger or chicken pieces that had previously been cooked on. She said they couldn't do what I asked as they told her, that they cook everything on that grill with everything on it at the same time. She also said the manager said this could not be done since her cooks said no they would not be able to do this. I said, then the poultry and the beef and everything else is on the grill together? Yuck! The server asked if she could get me anything else? I said no thank you. This means cross contamination is occurring at time of cooking? She just left to make sure the cooks knew, no grilled cheese! I was at this place in 2015 and sat at a table waiting for a server then and no one came over so we left after 30 minutes, I was going to give them another chance, cause my grandkids like this place. I explained to them this time will be our last time here. Several patrons came in 10 to 15 minutes after us and their food had already come out, our server came by and said it would be 2 or 3 more minutes. It was not, it was 26 minutes later before the food came out. After the kids were almost done with their meals, the manager came out and said, "I hear you are having an issue with your food?" I said, yes you already know about it, since the server told you about it 26 minutes ago. I would like to get you something else, a salad, a burger, what would you like? You already know what I wanted, I just don't understand why your cooks can't just clean off part of the grill to make my sandwich? The manager said, yeah I guess we could do that. My hubby said no thanks we're already done now, but I never heard of anyone cooking poultry and beef together on the same grill without cleaning the grill 1st.We said even Culver's cleans off their grill to make me my 2 grilled cheese sandwich. If you don't clean the grill before cooking your grill sandwich, the residue from your burger will be all over the 1st sandwich. Well, I wish there was something we could do for you, but I can see we can not. The server came back with the bill and my hubby did give the correct amount of tip since this was not her fault. If you don't mind cross contamination in your food this is the place for you. As for me I will never be back! Their bathrooms...
Read moreMy mother wanted to have her 70th birthday party at Sidelines because friends and family live in the area and enjoy the karaoke night even if they just listen and have drinks. I flew 900 miles to go to a place that is relatively in the middle of nowhere to me. The crowd was diverse for that area and everyone was friendly. The staff were short-handed but still phenomenal. They were as attentive as any person could possibly be with the number of people they had to serve. The catering was not that good but it was inexpensive so you get what you pay for. I bought a burger with onion rings and they were both very good and the burger was cooked how I ordered it. One would think that this is empty praise but I have had $2 burgers and $20 burgers. Price is not always an indicator of quality. The karaoke tends to the crowd which prefers country. I only rated Sidelines four stars because there were two birthday parties unrelated to my mother and uncle (his birthday was Friday and my mother's is the 31st). I did bit appreciate random elderly people eating our catering. They eventually stopped but that isn't the point. Staff should have intervened. I'm not going to complain in the moment. What kind of person gripes about elderly people snagging cheap food? Me here obviously, but in the moment, it would be rude given that everyone in the karaoke area was well over 50 with most being late 60s and 70s. So all in all I recommend Sidelines for parties and it looked like the folk playing pool and in the bar at the other side of the venue were locals enjoying themselves. So if you are nearby and drink alcohol (I don't) or just like to sing without judgement, head on over...
Read moreWe were looking for a place with good chicken wings and darts and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent! The wings were some of the BEST chicken wings I have ever had. My companion had a burger that was cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu. There's a great variety of food...something for everyone! There were only 2 dart boards but everyone else there was playing pool so we got lucky. LOTS of pool tables! We got to see the bartenders disinfecting the balls after each party was done playing. The whole restaurant was clean, especially the restrooms. All the staff was super friendly. There's a change machine by the bar to use for the dart machines (they only take quarters) so that was super convenient. The parking lot was well lit. The bar area with the darts and pool tables is separate from the main restaurant so I thought the place was very family friendly. I would bring young kids there AND would party it up with my friends...a real versatile venue! I can't...
