This is a cute and quirky donut place on the side of the road in St Cloud. It has a very "local, family-owned business" vibe. The building looks a little run down, but I loved all the donut decorations and anything with the name Donut in it calls my attention!
My complaints:
The donuts weren't labeled, so we had to ask what each individual donut was. I originally asked the gentleman working at the counter what were the different types of donuts he had, since I had never been here and wanted to try whatever fun flavors they had, but he made me point out each individual donut I wanted to know about, so I ended up not asking about all of them because I had to ask each one at a time and felt awkward after a handful.
The receipts are not itemized, so I have no idea how my half dozen donuts ended up being over $12. There was a sign saying an additional $.50 per "big" donut and filled donut, but again, nothing was labeled, so it was hard to know what I got charged for, and the staff wasn't particularly friendly for me to feel comfortable asking for a breakdown.
Like other comments have mentioned, the restrooms were closed for cleaning the entire hour I was in the store, so I left with quite an uncomfortable bladder and couldn't wash my hands that were sticky from the glaze.
I liked 2 out of the 6 donuts I tried (cookies & cream and coconut!). The blueberry, red velvet, and strawberry shortcake ones just tasted like overly sweet glazed donuts and they weren't very distinguishable from each other. They were good if you like glazed donuts though, it would just be cheaper to get them from Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts at that point.
All that being said, whenever I'm back in the area, I'll probably still stop by to get another cookies & creme (it was THAT good) and try some more flavors before deciding my final verdict...
Read moreI love coming to sip-n-dip i come sporadically, but when I do, it's always great. Used to love talking with the owners who are very passionate about this location.. however, they have stopped coming so often anymore.
12:30 pm 6/25:on a Wednesday... Just want to let you know that today I went there and expected to have the same experience.. however, although this employee seemed motivated to help us, it became more and more inconvenient as we tried to select a donut, she wasnt listening to me as i tried to order, then tried to correct me about something me and my wife were discussing, then proceeded to give me issues for all of my requests, i wanted the Tai-coffee to be lighter than normal, however she didnt seem to understand at all, so decided to make it easier and just order as normally made. After receiving the two coffees i ordered, i asked which was which bc i ordered a tai and a Vietnamese coffee as well, I couldn't remember which was which... again received attitude as if i was supposed to know this.. then, as we tried to walk out, we forgot our donuts bc of her incompetence again bc She never handed us the donuts, only set them next to the register.. Her name was Melody, The reason for the lengthy review is bc I love coming to this place, and love the owners, and this was the first time I've ever felt uncomfortable with my family, and I've come here several hundred times.. I'm just letting the owners know she is harming your business and even made me question coming back. All bc of this incompetent employee.. i feel like employees should be respectful, especially when this isn't your business! Hope all continues well and hope this message...
Read moreI’ve been going to this place for about 5 yrs now since moving in the area. I always get their milk tea boba and donuts. Their donuts are better than the typical fast food chains BUT their boba isn’t always delicious. Today, I went in around 7 am. There was no line. I waited about 20-25 minutes for them to make 5 boba milk tea. As the guy was making it I explained to him that the drinks looks like pure milk because he barely used any strawberry flavor in the mixture. He told me it’s the lighting of the sign that makes it look like that. I said ok and had him continue doing his job. When he was finally done and the drinks were placed on the counter, EVERY LAST DRINK looked like I just poured some milk in a cup with boba chunks added to it. I tried one of the drinks and it tasted like STRAIGHT UP MILK! I told the owner it tasted like milk and she told me it’s the powder. How can it be the powder when I saw with my own eyes that the guy who made the drinks barely used any flavor for all the drinks because he made them in a bulk container as opposed to individually . I asked her politely to remake it and was told she can’t. I left getting a refund and my son being disappointed that he didn’t receive his treat as promised for having a tough 1st week back at school. I’m not sure if I would return there but if I do, I would suggest that they make the drinks individually regardless of it being the same flavor because when trying to make the same drink at the same time using the same concept, it taste nothing like it should. However, I would recommend...
