It's been at least a year since we visited. I understand it was near midnight so I'm not one to expect perfection but I was not ready for this. We walk in, relatively busy but not in any way slammed. we are seated with menus, waitress walks away. 49 minutes later a different waitress comes by and asks if we've ordered yet. We tell her no one has come to take our order yet or get us drinks. She apologized and then asked are you still wanting to order? We of course said yes and she seemed like caught off guard by that answer. She then proceeds to set a dirty wet towel on the table and SLOWLY reached for her pad and then pencil. I've been a regular for years so I am pretty familiar with what I want and order it. She stops writing and just looks at me, doesn't ask if that's all doesn't ask the other person if they wanted anything. I then repeat what I want thinking maybe she didn't hear it all but she goes 'no I got that' so the other person just lists off his order and she walks away. She came back to ask me how I wanted my egg, I told her again. She then comes back again to tell the other person that the bananas they have are really green and don't taste good seeing if he still wanted them. He declined just said plain is fine and then comes back to ask how the other person wanted their eggs. The kitchen put out the order decently fast but she comes back to the table and tells me that they forgot to make it a double do you want it right now or in 3 minutes when the other patty is ready. I said I'm okay waiting. She brings out the other person's food and he was able to eat his whole meal (stuffed french toast) before mine comes out. I inform her that I ordered seasoned fries and she just kind of stared at me and goes no you didn't, I didn't hear you. Both me and the other person remind her I repeated my order twice. I'm not sure what she was expecting at that point because she just stared but I then asked if I can get some seasoned fries and she walked away. (I've yet to get confirmation she heard me or there are seasoned fries on the way) So I start working on my meal kind of going a bit slower socializing and finally finish my burger and figured I'll try some of these regular fries. They were the most bland idk what but I didn't think they could be bland. So eventually she comes out with a fresh bowl of seasoned fries and the other person asks for a to go box for his leftovers. She walks away (we thought to go get it) and then she serves up some coffee and waters for another few guest. No biggie we can wait. Well she clearly forgot, because ten minutes later I go up and ask her for a to go container. I am handed a small paper plate and tin bowl for the left overs .... I'm not entirely sure if this time frame or these employees are what is best represented but this was an absolute wreck of two hours. I wish I had something nice to say...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at this restaurant recently.
We waited in line for about 10 minutes before being seated. The restaurant was busy. We figured we'd be out in about an hour or so, as we were there to order breakfast for two people on a weekend.
10 minutes pass by without being met or asked for drinks. We end up flagging down another server to tell our server to stop by. Eventually we order our drinks (water and coffee). 10 more minutes pass by and we are finally given our drinks and asked for our order (2 simple meals).
We place our order and 30 minutes go by, no food. We ask the server and she says 15 more minutes. We time it. 18 minutes and we respectfully ask how much longer. We receive apologies that they are short handed and it will be another 20 minutes unfortunately, but will for sure have the food out. 10 minutes go by and the server drops off a fruit bowl because it's taken so long. After the 20 minutes pass, we flag down the waitress and give the ultimatum that it will be guaranteed out in 10 more minutes (isn't this crazy??!).
For some crazy reason, believing they will have our breakfast out so soon we decide to wait another 10 minutes. Well... 12 minutes go by and we walk to the front pay for our drinks and tell the cashier and the manager at the front that we can't wait any longer. We ask if we can take the food to go and they said they can't even tell when/if the order will be ready.
We wasted over an hour and a half, were promised time after time that our food would be ready and never got it. We walked out paying for our drinks and went down the street to another restaurant that served us promptly.
I suggest you do the same! Save yourself the time and headache, and go down the street to LOT's of other restaurants/diners that have better food, service, and prices. This is the last time I'll...
Read moreI'm not one to typically write a formal review, but being in the restaurant industry, I am quite critical of the service I receive. I will soon be promoted to management where I am employed, so I tend to look at the entire experience as a whole, to hopefully take away something that can help me in the future. Mary (Gandalf) yes, I paid attention to your nickname, you run a very tight ship. I am super impressed with your calm temperament, and respectful manner in which you treat your team members. You can tell you are respected by them, which says a lot about you. Thanks for making sure every plate to every guest was hot, fresh, and correct. Please, and thank you, and your welcome being used among your team was refreshing. Now, my server, Marie, was THE best! Her attitude, her hustle, her attention to not only her own details, but everyone else's as well, was simply amazing! It was when the table of 8 with 6 kids on it came in that she showed her true colors. She was just about to head back with the drinks they had ordered, when I heard her say, "Alright, let's go make some kids happy!" Wow. This brought tears to my eyes. As a server myself, I don't even know if I can keep that positive attitude under pressure on a rush like that. This is the best attitude a server can have. Thank you, Marie. I hope when I am management that I can have amazing employees working with me just like you. My experience was one of the most enjoyable breakfasts I've ever had. Joey, your pancakes are the bomb! Lydia, great job multitasking! This entire Sunday morning crew works so well as a team, great job! Danielle, Annika, Betty, Kristi, Jameson and the rest of you, keep up...
