I stopped in on the afternoon of 8/18/23. The place looks like a blast from the past. It's ok if your a traveler and want to experience the more touristy type of pastie place. The pasties are $12-14 which is to expensive in my opinion for what you get. The meals do not include a soft drink and will cost you close to $3 for a pop. All in, you could be close to $17 for one meal. There are other locations in St. Ignace that have cheaper options that are just as good.
The pasty itself tasted well and was served hot and fresh. We ordered a chicken and beef. Both were good
The girl who took my order was pleasant and welcoming.
I will by pass this place in the future foe...

The ketchup wasn't terrible, but I'll stick to gravy. We didn't have any cookies or dessert, but it all looked very good. We washed our excellent dinner down with some icy cold fountain drinks. We caught them on a good night and the cole slaw and fountain drinks were on the house... that's the hospitality and customer service I was talking about. We were at the St Ignace location which closes during the winter months. Their restaurant in Mackinac City is open year round for a nice pasty fix whenever...
Read moreEverything they offer is incredibly flavorful... pasties, coleslaw and those homemade cookies! I grew up with my mom making pasties that had a thick pie crust and chunks of meat. These are so much better! The shell is thin and envelops the juicy meat (if it is a beef pastie, I think it is ground sirloin!) potatoes, onion and rudabaga. Not one flavor overpowers another. Honestly, I would eat them for any meal. They are big and hardy, I can't eat one in one sitting. Highly recommend you stop either before the bridge or, now, North of it! They are better than any UP pastie I...
