Terrible experience. First time in St Joe and visited with my wife for our 15 year anniversary. Called a week in advance and they reserved us a table on the roof which was great, next to fire, awesome setting for a night out without kids. That's about where it ended, waitress came and went over the menu and said they have a couple of Prime Ribs left and they were running out, I immediately told her I wanted one and she said she would put my name on it. Ordered half dozen oysters and a couple of drinks. Drinks came out in about 10 minutes, not terrible as we knew they were busy. Another 10 minutes went by and the waitress came out and said they were out of Prime rib and I needed to pick something else. Again, understand somewhat as it's first come first serve. Ordered ribeye instead and wife ordered the $88 surf and turf. Now is where it gets bad, about 30 mins later (50 minutes after we arrived and 30 minutes after we ordered), the waitress came by and said she didn't know where the oysters where and she would check with the kitchen. Another 10 minutes passed and she came by again and said the same. Another 15 minutes past (hour and 15 in now), and she came by and said she called the kitchen again but they didn't answer so she wasnt sure what was going on. Had enough at that point, I quietly went over to the bar and asked for the manager so that other patrons weren't witnessing and didn't want to make my wife uncomfortable on our anniversary. Waited by the bar for the manager, he came up and I explained the situation. He was quick to offer me a free drink and said they were busy. Pretty much spoke volumes about how they run the place, give em a free drink because it costs us the least and all is well. Went back and sat down, food came out and was underwhelming. My ribeye was 1/2" thick and had plenty of fat. My wife's lobster tail was the smallest I have seen and steak was mediocre. All in all a bad way to spend our anniversary, first time I think I have ever asked for a manager and pretty sure this is the first negative review I have left. Just sucks I tried to make a good evening out of it and that experience made...

Absolutely amazing dining experience—-from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere! Right off the bat, the host was very welcoming and friendly! Our wait staff was Megan J, and she too, was very friendly, with warm smile and was attentive.
To start, we had the Seared Ahi Tuna. Taste and presentation was spectacular! In fact, everything was! For drinks, my husband ordered the Smoked Pecan Old Fashioned, and mine was the Spanish Coffee. Both were awesome! In fact, my husband ordered another glass! My little girl got herself a pineapple juice.
For the entree, I had the One Lobster Dinner. Right away after tasting it, I wished I ordered 2 because it was perfection! It was perfectly cooked, where it was sweet, tender, bouncy, and juicy! The clarified butter came in its own stand with a tea light candle right below it to keep it nice and warm!
My husband ordered the Seafood Pasta and he, too, loved it! My daughter wanted the sirloin from the kid’s menu, so we ordered it medium. It indeed came out perfectly medium and ir was already sliced for her.
For dessert, I ordered the crème brûlée. It was a huge portion meant for sharing, except that my husband was too full to share. My daughter being too picky didn’t even touch it, so I couldn’t finish it myself. I wish the caramelized sugar was just a tad thicker because that’s my favorite part!
Overall, I can’t wait to be back again!...
Read moreBoy are we glad that we chose this restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Everything was cooked to perfection. (I rarely post reviews so, you should know it’s GOOD when this Momma of five takes the time to write one for my fellow foodies;)
For an appetizer, we had the bacon honey brussel sprouts that were the best I’ve had (and I’ve tried them all at restaurants in the St Joseph area)- a perfect combo of savory and hint of sweet. The Caesar salad was generously sized, crisp, and delicious!
For the entrée, I ordered the Surf and Turf and my husband ordered the Garlic Ribeye. The filet mignon was so tender and I enjoyed the best lobster tail I ever had- cooked ever so perfectly to maintain its sweetness and meat delicately firm (I love good seafood!) The mashed potatoes, sauce, and asparagus were also very good and a perfect pairing. My husband highly enjoyed his Garlic Ribeye- it was FULL of flavor and melted in your mouth.
Our server Crystal was WONDERFUL keeping our glasses full through the night, checking in often to make sure we were doing well, and informing us of the timing of things. The owner stopped by to check in with us as well which was a wonderful surprise.
Lastly, a HUGE shout out to chef Chris who was flying solo tonight and cooked everything PERFECTLY!!! Amazing job!
