The atmosphere was fun! I did have a poor experience with an older male who was serving my group. I have Celiac Disease so I have to confirm if wine is gluten free (meaning it wasn't stored in barrels that are sealed with glue that has wheat - which then seeps into the wine) I asked the gentlemen if all of their wines are gluten free and his response was "there ain't no bread in wine". Now, as someone who's living in 2024 with an allergy to gluten, I'm well adjusted to being mocked for my allergy but I'll never understand someone in the food and beverage industry making a joke out of something they should be taking more seriously. It also wasn't even the comment (which wasn't even a clever joke) it was the tone he said it in, like I was a blonde bimbo worried about breaking my diet. I didn't appreciate it at all and then when I tried to clarify (because again he didn't even answer my very serious question) he basically dismissed me, saying "I know, I know", like he knew why I was asking. It left me feeling 1) Embarrassed, because clearly he thought I was an idiot. and 2) Uncomfortable because I was left still wondering if he actually knew why I was asking. Thankfully I didn't get sick. And I have the feeling if you had to take 5 days off of work to deal with the illness that I get when I accidently have gluten, you probably wouldn't think it's so funny. I'm not sure when allergies became a joke to people. But it's not funny. Or professional. Or kind. Can people not just be nice and respectful?
Other than that he was clearly well informed on all of the wines offered. And I gave 3 stars because all of the other people in my party seemed to enjoy their drinks. Hopefully this review will be seen or shared with that gentlemen and he might choose to be more respectful...
Read moreMy fiancé and I stopped in here with only a few minutes before close and the service was INCREDIBLE! The young lady helping us was so nice and friendly. We had a nice conversation about the area and asked her whats the worst hotel to stay at while visiting? Lucky us we had a room at the hotel she said the Silver CRACK Hotel (Silver Beach Hotel...nothing silver about this place Lol). She had also told us where to get some food and pointed us towards Silver Beach Pizza boy did she hit a homerun on that. We had a great time in the short time we were there. I'm sure they will remember us for a while to come to say the least. The wine is also delicious which had made our stay at the crack hotel tolerable 😂😂! For the other woman working if she reads this GO IRISH! We beat Clemson that night!!!!! This is definitely a must visit!! We...
Read moreThis winery is an absolute gem!!! The staff are very welcoming and pleasant to interact with. Even though it was incredibly busy the front cashier was dedicated to answering our questions and grabbing some bottles for the group.
This winery sets itself apart from the other wineries in the area because they are not pretentious at all. The vibe is very friendly, cozy, and pleasant.
I've been here a couple times and HIGHLY recommend the ice wine. The first time I visited White Pine, I tasted and loved the ice wine but did not get myself a bottle. This regrettable decision lived rent-free in my head for almost 2 years, so I had to come back and grab a bottle.
Seriously, TRY/GET...
