I grew up in St. Joe and this store is part of my past. I remember my aunt Sophie Dansfield giving her daughter Debbie and I a quarter each to spend there. Back in the early 1960s a quarter had some spending power. After an hour or so we ended up with a box of fake fingernails. We walked home and glued them on, only to find out we were having fried chicken for supper. No amount of strategy helped us get a grip on the drumsticks. It was fingernails or chicken. OMG! I was so pleasantly surprised to see this ! I had no idea it was there, the only thing negative I just have to say (sorry but if it were my business, I'd definitely want & need to know) as I walked in there was a gentleman who was "working" I greeted him with a hello & so shocked, Nothing in return!!! So I thought maybe he didn't hear me....ok, so I walk around shopped a bit took my items to the register...same man....Still so Rude & Unfriendly. Went above and beyond great customer service! I left a bag of items I purchased from another store there while shopping at G&M. I didn’t realize I left my bag at the store until I returned to my home which is 3 hours away from St Joseph! I called and they had it set aside for me. When I offered to send money for the cost of getting my items to me, they said not to worry about it, and packed them up in a box to mail to me. I very much appreciated their kindness.
