I had never tried Jersey Mike's subs. They sent a mailer to my place of business offering 25% off a catering order. We had a training scheduled so I decided to try them out with the coupon. I placed the order at 5pm the night before.
I arrived at the restaurant at 10:25 to pick up my order that was scheduled for 10:30 am. The person at the counter indicated that she did not know anything about my order. I showed her the confirmation email and receipt. She looked at the computer again and said the system never generated a receipt so the order was not ready. She said they could have it ready in 25-30 minutes at which time I said that I would miss the training that I was hosting. I asked if she would provide any discount and she said that I "already got a discount".
She did not once take ownership for the error nor did she apologize. When I asked for the Manager she said that she was the GM. Finally, I asked for a refund at which time she told me she would refund me somewhere around $65. I showed her the receipt where I paid over $70 because I INCLUDED A TIP. She told me she could not refund me the tip because it isn't on her total.
I realize it's hard to find good help these days but this experience was ridiculous. This "manager" should have taken ownership for the system's error and found a way to pay me back my hard earned money. It still would not have saved me the embarrassment of showing up to my own training late and asking my staff to make their own sandwiches.
I am not a person who takes the time to write bad reviews. I prefer to support positive experiences. I could not let this go and I WILL be reaching out to corporate for my refund. I will never be back to...
Read moreI ordered 3 sandwiches and a bowl, to go. I didn’t check my bag before I left. I’ll take some of the blame for having confidence in them to give me all my items.
I got home and I only had 2 sandwiches and a bowl. I figure it’s not that big of a deal. I”ll just drive all the way back there and they’ll fix it.
I get there at 8:30pm. They are closed. They are supposed to close at 9pm. I knock on the door and one of the employees answers. I tell them what happened and she says yeah that happens when we don’t write the sandwiches out individually and it’s written down as times 2. The person on the grill can miss a sandwich. She then tells me they’ve shut down for the night so they can’t make me the sandwich. I asked about a refund and she says she can’t do that either because they’ve shut down for the night. This is at 8:30pm. Their closing hours are 9pm. In the time it took me to drive home and back they shut the whole place down. I guess getting out of there early on a Friday night is more important than work.
The employee did say if I came back tomorrow she’d make me the sandwich or refund me. My problem is I shouldn’t have to make the time to drive out there again. I also think there is a known problem with how they write down orders and how those orders will be fulfilled but she acted like it was no big deal. If she can ring me up for 4 items by the order slip, why doesn’t the person on the grill know I ordered 4 items.
I will not be ordering from this place again. I can’t say eating from here because I never got to eat from here. I gave the 3 items I got to my family, and went without because of their...
Read moreMy wife and I eat here every now and then when we are in the area. About 2 weeks ago we stopped in and had our best experience since Jersey Mike’s opened here. The young lady that took our order was a pleasure to talk with. She made our sub, while also conversing with other customers checking on their orders. Her ability to multitask was amazing. She also handled the cash register when I paid for our sandwich. Later we noticed her wiping off tables and sweeping the floor. I personally told her she was responsible for our enjoyable experience that day! Our sandwich was very good, her attitude and with ethic was commendable as was the conversation. Before we left I asked her name. It was Chloe. Employees like her will help your business grow, she’s a...
