TL;DR: We know we're going back there for more. 10/10, best Saag Paneer I can remember eating.
We drove past this place a few times and commented on how it stood out in a mall filled with bigger corporate names. We decided to stop in on a whim and were we glad that we did.
The menu selection seems a bit smaller than some other Indian restaurants, but there was still plenty of selection. ~10 different main dishes with selections of different proteins that could be added, like beef, in addition to 10+ vegetarian dishes, a small assortment of seafood dishes, as well as appetizers, naan, and deserts/specialty drinks. All in all, I think there was a healthy number of options.
We ordered a bread basket, consisting of a plain naan, garlic naan, and paneer naan. For our main dishes, we ordered a Saag Paneer, spinich dish with paneer cheese cubes, and Beef Vindaloo, a traditionally spicy curry. Cutting right to the chase, it was all delicious. We chose medium spicy for the Saag, and "regular" spicy for the Vindaloo. I believe the options were no spicy, medium spicy, spicy, and extra spicy.
The Vindaloo was quite spicy, leaving a warm tingling after each bite. The Saag worked its magic with the creaminess mellowing out any residual spice. Going back and forth between the dishes was just an excellent way to maximize each flavor profile.
Dancing Ganesha was an unexpectedly great find, surrounded by other more mundane selections. While the prices may be a little higher than Blaze Pizza or Noodles and Company, the quality more than makes up for the difference in my opinion. We look forward to returning to try...
Read moreAs always, the service is prompt, and the food is delicious at Dancing Ganesha. The lively decor catches your eye the moment you step inside, but the aroma of the spices takes over your senses, making your mouth water! You can't go wrong here.
I usually order the mild chicken rice biryani, although even the mild version has a bit of a kick. In the past, I've requested no spice in this dish, but it still came out spicy. Last night, I was informed that it's not possible to make rice biryani without some level of spice; otherwise, it wouldn't be rice biryani. With that noted, I'll mention that even though I have a sensitive palate, the mild version is tolerable, but it takes some getting used to. However, it might still be too spicy for kids.
Who doesn't love naan, and the naan at Dancing Ganesha is fantastic. My family and friends have never complained about any dish they've ordered. Last night, the other orders at my table included Dal soup, Chicken Saag, and Vindaloo. Everything was wonderfully prepared and served with plenty of rice. If I had one complaint, it would be that an extra side of Raita used to be a generous size and is now quite small. For $4 a side, I'd like to receive the previous pint-size they used to offer instead of the small ramekin they now provide.
All in all, this is our go-to spot, and we will definitely be returning! We're looking forward...
Read moreTo preface this review, Indian Food is at the bottom of my list of ethnic foods. I wanted to give it a try. That being said, this is much better than other Indian places I’ve been to. Place was well decorated, and clean, with calming, appropriate music. Service was polite and prompt. More than I can say for other Indian places in the area. We ordered chicken Tikka Masala with little to no spice, and onion Naan bread. My g/f has dairy allergies and they were able to accommodate her and answer her questions. It would get a 5 star except the prices. In this area the restaurants around it are $12-14 max. They should shoot for those prices. They also aren’t ready for prime time with their drinks. They didn’t have a drink menu yet and poured the can of pop in front of us in a glass with ice they brought later. A minor nitpick.
If your big on Indian food, you’d like this place. For casual diners, I would visit this no more than 2-3 times a year. Best for people familiar with Indian food or want...
