Food definitely was the best part of the experience, but the overall vibe I got was not the best. I came alone and it was not very busy but I felt that I was being ignored? so that was a bit confusing to me. I ordered a matcha latte and one of their “famous” omelets, The Loon, I believe it was called. It was pretty good tbh, on the heavy side, but the service rubbed me the wrong way. I noticed several staff members walking about checking on tables, inquiring on how their meals were, but not even ONCE did any of them come by to ask me, not even my waitress. Halfway through my omelet, she stopped by to give me a to go box and the check yet I never asked? Other than that I actually never saw her again except when she was speaking to other tables, checking in w them and such. I had planned to order something sweet following my meal but I honestly felt I was being rushed out. And again, I WAS DINING ALONE. Honestly the food wasn’t half bad and the jam was delicious but simply considering how I felt during my first trip here, I wouldn’t return. Not sure what the issue was but it was not attentive at all.

BREAKFAST PLACE! This is our first time to dine-in since covid-19 happened. We we’re looking for a breakfast place since we moved to Saint Paul and we found this breakfast place called “Keys Bakery and Cafe” it’s just 1 block away from my place. The place is great. The ambience and cleanliness of this Cafe is great! The sanitation is amazing. The employees are kind, nice and friendly. They will take good care of you as soon as you enter the Cafe! The FOOD! The food is great. I know it is a traditional breakfast they have in the menu, but the flavor of the food is not overwhelming, everything is on point. My favorite is their homemade jam. The consistency of the jam is perfect, the sweetness is on point as well. The Caramel Latte we got is not that sweet, it is perfect combination to any breakfast they have in the menu. The portion size of their food is huge. I can’t even finish mine but over all I love this place! All employees is wearing a mask. And not all the seat are available due to social distancing. They have patio seating too!! I will recommend this place!!

We went here after a morning at the St. Paul Farmers Market on a Sunday. It was busy, but we were able to be seated right away and we sat on the patio area. The patio has views of the buildings and a little garden park across the street. The service was very fast and friendly. The menu is large so you have the option to eat any kind of food, anytime of the day. I opted for the turkey dinner for lunch which was very filling. It was just your typical turkey dinner, wasn’t anything I’d say that was too special about it, but it was still good. Others in our group went for breakfast which they said they enjoyed. The eggs were cooked nicely and as ordered. The Cajun breakfast was good, but again sort of bland. It didnt have a “kick” or flavor you’d expect when ordering a “Cajun” breakfast. The prices are reasonable. If you’re looking for a quick bite that easy and simple, I’d recommend this place.

Ordered caramel rolls yesterday thru the GH app to surprise my bf on Valentine's Day. What I received was stale, old caramel rolls that were wrapped in Saran wrap... Squishing them.. which I found odd because they normally come in a styrofoam container to preserve their shape and allow them to be large and soft and to keep the caramel on the roll. Usually it's the day old rolls that get wrapped up in Saran wrap and placed by the register for customers to hopefully buy as they pay their bill.. Paying 4.50 a roll and the fact that Keys Cafe is known for their caramel rolls... And being the fact that I've ordered them before.. I knew what to expect.. What I got was so wrong that I'm still upset. Because you expect more from a place that is praised for the item you are purchasing. You expect more for the price that they are charging. But even more so, being the fact it was Valentine's Day, you expect to be able to present something that is so good it's a treat. Something that is so good that who ever is surprised with them on Valentine's Day morning appreciates the effort and is impressed with the product . These caramel rolls were so old that they were hard as a rock on the outside. When we unwrapped them most of the caramel stuck to the Saran wrap . But it was gross .. the condensation that had built up in the air tight wrap job turned the caramel to like a cloudy sticky water . And although the outside of the roll was hard as a rock and crumbled when you tried to pull it apart from itself the inside of the caramel roll was wet and soggy from where the caramel must have sweated.

I was grossed out and embarrassed to present them to my boyfriend. So I didn't. There went my attempt to make him feel special and appreciated on that day. There went $20 out the window, and the time wasted waiting for it. I was really upset. I felt like a decision was made when the order came in yesterday morning to wait and fulfill the order with the fresh caramel rolls that Keys Cafe is known for... Or get the order out the door and fulfill it with the old ones from the day before And call it done. What else could it have been? I reached out to the St Paul location and told them what had happened. No response. I wanted to give them a chance to fix it. But I have not gotten a response even. Pretty poor service to match the crap caramel rolls that I received. If you are known for delicious caramel rolls and your customers go out of their way to get them for special occasions and you are going to charge that much for each one .. then put the effort into giving the customer what they expect. Appreciate that the Internet and social media have praised your products. But don't forget to deliver that product. Think twice before you give Keys Cafe your business. What was a family owned local staple of the community with good food doesn't mean it will always...

This was definitely a childhood favorite growing up, I remember the food being SO good and the staff even better. So I thought forsure when I recommended to my friend that he try it for the first time that it was be great! Unfortunately I did not have quite that experience this last time I was in, simply for a pickup. I called around noon Saturday morning, I asked for an order for pickup and I got a "Uggghhh! Are you kidding me, hold on a second." I held, when she came back she very quickly took my order, not asking bread choices or even letting me finish my sentences. By the time the call is over I was just hoping the order was right. I got inside to pick up, and the place was a zoo, the woman at the register, I'm assuming was the one I talked to, was very frantic and rude. The price seemed a bit high for 2 you build it omelets(one of which had extra cheese) and an order of 2 eggs with a sausage patty. About $50. I asked for a receipt, I also had another order to pick up while I was there, and she very rudely asked if I wanted a receipt for that too so I didn't waste her time to begin with by not asking. I told her I wanted to see the price because it seemed high, gave it to me and we left. Also before we walked up to the register we were waiting to be rung up, looking at the pies, she said "so did you want anything from there or are you going to come to get rang up". I thought she was helping the man infront of me still. At that point I just wanted to leave. When we got home and opened the boxes, I was VERY inappatized. It looked very quickly thrown together, and the cheese looked disgusting. & quick slap of Kraft American cheese on the top, which stuck to the parchment paper and ripped off. Both of us were served honey oat bread that we didn't ask for nor get asked about, which wasn't eaten. I feel like I not only wasted money, but a whole experience at this place. I'll probably never go back, atleast to this location. 1 star for the service and the food. I hope...

Food was good. No issue there. Service though.... Absolutely terrible. Place wasn't even busy. Host didn't show us to our table, just pointed as if we would know. Blonde waitress came over eventually and was RUDE as if we offended her. Sorry for wanting to enjoy a meal... Anyway! She took our drink order and walked away acting inconvenienced. Again.. sorry for wanting to enjoy a good meal. Another lady brought us two of our drinks and our original waitress finally came back with my girlfriend's son's malt and sat it down and tossed his straw and walked away. Then after another 10 minutes or so another waitress came over to take our order. Got our food fine.. enjoyed it (fries were meh but no issue). She asked if we wanted our check (again the place isn't busy and doesn't close till 8pm). We said sure and she did. Prices were outrageous but ok. We were just finishing up, my girlfriend's son was still kind of eating his food and our waitress came over and tried grabbing the check which my girlfriend didn't have her card out yet "Can I grab that is that cool?" Ok sure. She went and ran the card and we are just kind of looking over things because kind of surprised at separate charges of things that weren't listed as separate charges on the menu sooooo that was a "nice" surprise. She comes back rushing us wanting to take the check again and almost grabbed it before we even signed it or anything! I was amazed at how she just tried to do that. As we were walking out they were all just sitting at a table. Sooooo why were we so rushed??? Why were your people so rude? We weren't rude and were... Despite your employees we remained pleasant.

Good food. Horrible staff. Won't be...
