Ming's garden isn't too far from my house, about 10 minutes or less but I didn't have a car on that cold windy day and I was working from home so I decided to give it a try. I didn't get my food until an hour later but when my food did arrive, it was still nice and hot. I knew the delivery guy was probably making several other delivery trips because when he arrived, I saw that he had other bags of food in his car waiting to be delivered. Anyway, let's get to the food review. The food was okay, not comparable to food that you sit and order at a Chinese restaurant or buffet. Out of all Chinese food delivery, I have to say the food from Ming's Garden tasted a little better than other Chinese restaurants that delivered. I ordered the general tso's chicken lunch special that came with wonton soup and fried rice and I ordered 5 piece chicken wings on the side to reach the $15 minimum. I must've been very hungry at the time because the food tasted so good but as I kept eating, I noticed the taste got saltier and saltier. The fried rice got a little soggy from the general tso chicken's sauce. The general tso's chicken was pretty good although the rest of the food was a bit disappointing. Some of the chicken wings tasted fresh while a few of them was obviously old. The meat inside the skin was dry and yellow with white spots on it. The wonton soup's broth was pretty good until I took a bite of the thick doughy wonton and noticed a sour taste. I opened up the wonton and there was ONE slice of beef in it that looked very old; it had a brownish green color to it. SO I decided to break open the other 2 pieces of wonton and the meat was mushy with the same color. Lost my appetite after that. The service was good and the people was friendly but I probably won't order from Ming's Garden again for the quality of the food. If you're planning to order delivered food from there, I hope you get a better...
Read moreI literally just ordered the Veggie Egg foo young, “chicken” fried rice, and “chicken” egg roll, and the actual chicken wings…. First of all the food was NASTY. I’m not even kidding, I’m from Chicago so I know REAL CHINESE FOOD. Idk what they put in that fried rice but it ain’t CHICKEN. Y’all lying on here or y’all got dead taste buds because I just threw $35.25 in the TRASH. MY TODDLER DIDNT EVEN EAT IT AND SHE LOVES FOOD. IM SO IRRITATED RIGHT NOW. THE EGG FOO YOUNG WAS NOT FRESH AND TASTED LIKE SOGGY OIL! The chicken wings tasted the way garbage juice smell , that’s the best I can explain it. Customer service was alright- girl on the phone was monotone no type of enthusiasm, delivery driver very upbeat and pleasant , I will give them that. But whoever is responsible for cooking needs to QUIT. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN IN LIFE. THE EGG ROLLS … 2 tiny egg rolls for 5$??? And they were MID. NOT APPETIZING AT ALL. THIS IS A VERY HONEST REVIEW. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU ARE Accustomed to bland, oily, soggy food and fake chicken in the fried rice !! Bro I’ll never eat here again ever I’m so angry right now I literally just ordered this food, Me and my baby took a few bites of everything and now it’s in my trashcan. I just practically donated $35 to you guys because I did not Get my monies worth everything was disgusting. I don’t know how many ways I can put that, straight up garbage...
Read moreI'd driven past Ming's Garden a bazillion times over many years before finally stopping in to try it out. I had planned on eating there. Turns out it's either take-out or delivery - no table service. OK, no problem.
I ordered the C10a mixed veggie combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll and hung out with the all-business counter girl, Jessica, for the remarkably few minutes it took the cook to prepare it. Loved it! The veggies were a little too saucy but tasty and tender crisp. On subsequent visits we got that ironed out by ordering with very little sauce.
I've tried about 10-12 different dishes on subsequent visits and everything has been great except for the dishes with scallops. The scallops are too small and too few for my liking. Stand outs include the kung pao anything, pork fried rice, and green beans with pork. But the mixed veggies 84b with very little sauce is my go to favorite.
The portions are plentiful and prices reasonable. And if I call to order it's ready by the time I drive over and quiz Jessica for a minute or two about other menu items. I'm amazed she knows all the ingredients that are in every dish. I've not tried the delivery option.
Now I'm hungry...
