At first it was kind of awkward. I'm a local and people don't realize this as I'm 33 and I don't really like to burn a dollar if there's no need! However.... football was on t.v. and eventually the misunderstanding about how the security guard tells me to put my mask on which I would have thanked him for reminding me but I had no clue who he was as he had no name tag and no mask on himself, and also referred to MacNasty's as "my club so I don't need a mask"! I said, "Do you work here sir?" He said "Yes this is my house I'm the security guard!" I said, ok sir and since this is "your house" as he referred to MacNasty's at the time, "where is your mask I asked?" No answer just a blank look lots of foul words at me and still no mask. So I decided to go talk to my friend next door who runs a smoke shop to let this man vent and understand that what he just did to me was harassment and came back with my mask on 10 min later. Same person I politely ask, "sir it took me a while but I've found my mask may I now enter your establishment?" He noticed the mask and said yes you may we shook hands like men should and I had...
Read moreMy all time favorite bar! I was in town for a work conference and the hotel restaurant staff recommended that we check out MacNasty’s.
This place is what tradition and good times is about. The bartender Gabe was super awesome and probably one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. He took great care of everyone in the bar and went out of his way to ensure everyone was taken care of and had what they needed. The regulars were all friendly and every person in there would strike up a conversation like you knew them for years.
Gabe gave us the whole history of the bar and it is definitely a staple to the community. Locals were telling me of the struggles through the years with hurricanes and such and they always came back to how MacNasty’s opened their doors as soon as they could. They explained how Gabe and his wife could to take care of their people and put others ahead of themselves every time.
The vibe in that place is one of what America should be with and I hope it never changes. What a great place and I would make the cross country trip just to go back.

Read moreDecent looking dive bar. But my group experienced a few things that ticked us off and we all decided to leave. First, a local patron that several other customers seemed to know, of light skinned complexion, said a few racial things to at least two of my friends who are American born Puerto Rican, and Cuban. Also, we had just come from Jimmy B's and a female friend carried her leftover drink in with her. The male bouncer/bartender made a big scene of things by turning on only the lights at the table she was sitting at as if it were a spot light, walked over with a huge garbage can and told her to throw it out in front of everyone. I'm not sure why he had to make such a big scene over one girl. We easily had at least 12 other people there ordering drinks. He could've handled it better. This place has definitely lost the business of me and my following of locals for largely being unprofessional and harboring racist customers. The one exemption for two service starts was for the female bartender working. She was attentive, fast, and...
