I honestly never write reviews ever, this genuinely might even be my second one, but my husband and I are here from Omaha, Nebraska and are both in the service industry. We flew down and have traveled all over FL in the last week - from the Keys to Miami and then here. To be able to come to this place and say that we feel like we are at home is an understatement. We had the absolute pleasure to be able to have John as our server tonight and the service was beyond the both of us. From the suggestions of wine to helping us build a charcuterie board was absolutely amazing. The service was immaculate and beyond anything i’ve been able to compare to. I can honestly say that this is the best service i’ve ever had. The food is amazing, the presentation is sensational, and the wine list is for everyone. I feel very thankful that we were able to come here and have the service that we were able to have tonight. It’s been a long week of traveling and John sat and talked to us as if we were talking to an old friend. I would never recommend anywhere else but here. I grew up here as a child traveling with my family, and to come here for the first time… WOW!! I was missing out! John is the absolute closest to home we have felt in such a big place in the world and we feel very grateful to have chosen the best restaurant in St. Pete. John, we personally want to thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts and to all the other workers that made our experience that much more. You made us feel at home. If you are looking for a relaxing place and ready to try something new, this is your place. We will definitely be back. I’m sure the other workers are just as amazing but if you choose to have the pleasure of having John… He is here Mondays and Fridays. You will not be disappointed. -...

COOK DROPPED YOUR $36 STEAK ON THE DIRTY FLOOR AND THEN PLATED IT FOR YOU TO EAT. Click to read more…

I emailed this restaurant to let them know the horrible thing I saw happen and never received a response… so I’ll let everyone else know now.

First, I would like to say that I absolutely ADORED this restaurant. We came from Dunedin and brought our friend for his birthday to celebrate and everything was wonderful as usual... Until I happened to be looking towards the food prep area (it’s out in the open, which I usually love) and I watched the older gentleman with the white beard drop a steak he was cooking onto the ground (on the DISGUSTING anti-slip mat he was standing on), put it back in the oven for a few more minutes, and then plated it to be served. (This happened on July 16th, between 8:40-8:45pm.) I saw him tell another worker what had happened, they looked around as if to make sure no one saw, and no one did anything about it. I’m honestly disgusted and completely shocked that this supposedly “fancy” restaurant could allow such a practice, be told about it, and not even respond.

If we hadn’t already eaten and finished our dinner (an almost $300 check), we would’ve had to immediately leave. I feel SO bad for whoever was served that steak and I wanted to say something but again, I was in shock and just wanted to leave at that point.

I’m not sure how I could go there or recommend the place again, fearing that that is something that could happen again. I guess the owners and manager don’t care? What a freaking...

I live in St. Petersburg and tend to eat out frequently, for multiple reasons. The city is beautiful, along with the atmosphere and we have amazing food and restaurants. Bracchus is one I hadn’t tried before as I have many favorites in the same area that I tend to go to. I like to eat locally and small, especially after the pandemic reopening I wanted to do my part in giving back and helping small businesses get back to normal as I myself own a small business. So, after being recommended, we attended Bracchus, the appetizers and charcuterie were great, honestly, I won’t pretend they weren’t. The Kale cesar was ok along with the flatbread. Still a place I would go back to. That was until, I paid my bill, and was immediately asked to get up because they needed the table…. Excuse me? What? The manager was giving our waiter “dirty looks” per exact words from waiter because he needs the table and would like us to leave. Pandemic or not, waitlist or not, reservations or not, I DON’T CARE. YOU DON’T take someone’s money and then ask them to get up. I would’ve sat there for maybe 30 more minutes, ordered another glass, even already paying the bill, but was asked to get up. Quite frankly I don’t care how good your food is, or how cute it is, you’ve shown me who you are as a money hungry business owner, and there’s a dozen other restaurants I’m happy to support during my weekends eating out. I recommend Annata down the street I go 1-2 times a week the food is out of this world, and I’ve never been asked to get up...

I would have given Bacchus a five star review except for the following. The restaurant is small, packed, and very noisy. Between the music and the loud conversations all around me, this is hardly an atmosphere of quiet. Yet the proprietor had an issue with me watching a YouTube video while dining alone. Really? I go to movies, the theater, comedy shows, and patrons talk instead of paying attention to the artists like a polite audience should, but somehow our society now says that’s alright. Yet I’m watching a video on my phone, which I couldn’t even hear because of how loud the restaurant was, and I’m the problem? The employee said that the other people who complained “had reservations” and were “trying to enjoy their meal” but they “heard my video.” I’m not sure how they could hear my video when I couldn’t even hear my video right in front of me (because of how noisy everyone else was!) and I had to turn on my closed captions. I said, “So because they have reservations they can make as much noise as they want but I can’t make any noise?” I turned the volume off completely. She finally offered to comp me a glass of wine which is the reason they got 3 stars overall instead of 1 star but I won’t be back, and that’s a shame because I work at a college and was planning to bring a large group of students here for a celebration.

There are times when my wife and I don't begrudge spending a little more than usual for a delightful lunch. This was one of those occasions where the restaurant staff worked together delightfully to produce an excellent experience. For example, we arrived on time and our reserved table - outside - was ready. A minor irritation is that they only have high top tables, which I find a little uncomfortable, but we managed. Service from Andi was courteous and prompt, our food was nicely presented at the right temperature, the wines were reasonably priced and, of course, they have an espresso machine for after dinner coffee. Ah yes, the food. To start we shared a "Planche" with Camembert and Roquefort cheeses, Jamon Serrano and Rillettes de Canard charcuteries served on a platter with pickled onions and gherkins , marmalade, jam and toasted French bread, we also added a bowl of French Onion soup. For our main course we both ate Steak au Poivre flambe served with asparagus and roast potatoes. All was delicious. The food was washed down with a couple of glasses of wine apiece. Also delicious. What a delightful way to spend a couple of hours before an afternoon walk to the nearby St Pete pier. The cost, before tax and tip, was $88.78 per person

We went to the Saturday market and wanted lunch. I love French for lunch and Bacchus did NOT disappoint. We got the Chablis white wine with the sardine appetizer. Holy molly was that just an amazing gastro journey. Savory AND refreshing. I could eat 3 of those. The bread is also the perfect balance of crunchy and warm soft. No fear of scratching your mouth. And the quantity!! Finally, enough crostini to finish your meal with. We also ordered the tuna carpaccio, the beet carpaccio and, of course, the foie gras. Perfect for 2. The beet carpaccio outshines the tuna in complexity and brightness. That may have been the largest portion of foie gras I’ve ever had. The bright pickled veggies and Marcona almonds just make this dish. The tuna’s citrus paired great with the beets. But the beets truly steal the show, only after the sardines. Also, shout out to Devon for being on point and good listener to give us such a great experience. We sat by the windows and had a great view of breezy Saturday morning promenades. 11:30am the place was nearly empty, quiet, lovely and attentive. I could live there.
