Kraken Joe's Pizza — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

Came to pick up and order for a customer and when I got there the order wasn’t even made, they said they didn’t receive and order. Went to the bar and the lady was able to find it on her computer (wasn’t even upset about that) was told to give them 10 minutes and it should be done.. not sure who the other guy was that was cooking the pizza but he was older (I believe he was the owner) he was super rude and very unprofessional! The lady was trying to explain to him about the order that “didn’t come in” and he legit said I don’t care and continued working on other pizzas! 10 minutes ended up turning in to 40 MINUTES!! the younger nice gentleman was asking me what dressing I wanted, I told him o had to ask the customer as I was picking up someone else’s order and the older man who was already being rude turned and yelled at him and told him don’t even ask just put balsamic in the bag like the salad normally comes in, don’t ask her??? Then started complaining to another customer about having to clean up after people.. mind you I was on a time schedule, I missed other delivery opportunities and not once did the gentleman apologize or even give the customer a discount or anything! Took away from my job and made the customer have to wait over 40 minutes for their food!! The younger gentlemen was super nice but the older man with the bald head was such a jerk. I will never...

I regret not snapping any photos of the food or of Kraken Joe’s exterior location, but this was my fifth brewery stop of the night so my brain wasn’t exactly all together. I should preface by saying I’ve been to Cage Brewing many times, but my first stop since they added a full time pizza place. You order at the bar not at the pizza joint itself, but they do have menus right in front of Kraken Joe’s where you can grab eating utensils along with various condiments. It’s a real knife and fork wrapped in a napkin; nothing plastic. We ordered the Italian fries and a meat lovers pizza. Both were excellent! The fries were served hot and had a great crunch to them. The pizza was also excellent. The place uses the little spicy pepperonis, which gives it a nice kick. The guy who made the food is also extremely friendly and a great person to chat with. The pizza is made in a giant fire brick oven. You’ll get a buzzer to pick up the food, but ours was brought to us since it was a quieter evening. I love this place, full of art, murals, sculptures all around the outside and inside the building. The pizza is from an oak-fired brick oven so the crisp crust and even some burnt edges were DELICIOUS. Meatballs are homemade and cooked inside the oven as well as the Brussel sprouts!The craft beer here is great too! I had the mango Joe a mango ipa and then the German Pilsner which was crisp and clean. Others had the strawberry blonde ale and the sour which were delicious too according to them, such a perfect night and wide open space for a place in St Pete. The kids played around and were safe.

You can’t get their beer and pizza m anywhere but at this spot so it’s exclusive but worth the trip! I heard a band that night that was insanely good, they bring in great live music too!
