We had a reservation but when we arrived, we waited about five minutes before someone greeted us, then a server just walked by and said sit anywhere and kept going so we didn’t have a chance to sit in the seats that were reserved for us so we went outside to where there was availability. The only table open was dirty with previous diners drinks and a spill. When the waitress finally came over after ten minutes, she threw menus on the table in the spill so they got wet and walked away, never cleaning the table. Another table opened up about five minutes later and was cleaner so we moved. We waited another ten minutes before Jason came over and greeted us (he was not the original server) (we waited a little over 20 minutes to place a drink order) he asked how long we waited and was apologetic and so sweet, he got us our drinks and food very quickly, he was knowledgeable about the menu and saved us from leaving. We had been looking for other places when he came over and we are glad we stayed because the service from then on out was amazing! He was friendly and helpful and never left us waiting. The food was really good and we enjoyed every bite. We got bottomless mimosas and never had to wait for a refill. This would have been five stars across the board if it wasn’t for the initial experience but he truly saved the experience for us and we were glad we stayed. We got the cheeseburger sliders and the mini quesadillas and both were delicious. We were hungry so I forgot to take photos but they had a great presentation and were...
Read moreI'm actually pretty impressed with Thirsty First! My friend and I came here this week to check out their happy hour and bingo.
Getting here was a little confusing since there's no big sign on the door and it's on a one-way street. FYI, this is on the same block that the downtown Starbucks is on (the one on the corner) so you don't get lost!
We started with the Cheesy P's, which were a happy hour special. The Cheesy P's consists of two pretzels (one big pretzel cut in half) stuffed with cheese. The batter had some sort of sweetness to it, but it wasn't too overwhelming. I liked the combination of sweet and salty with the pretzels. Dipped in the mustard, it was an unusual but excellent combination.
I had a chicken taco ($2 on Tuesdays) and ordered the carrot and turnip fries. The taco was alright. I should have asked for hot sauce. For $2 it can't be beat though.
The carrot and turnip fries were probably the most surprising and most delicious part of the meal for me. The fries tasted pretty much exactly like regular potato/sweet potato fries, but they didn't leave me feeling uncomfortably full or like I'd eaten a bunch of grease.
Bingo was really fun. Cards start at $1 per sheet and then go up to $2/$3 each sheet in the following rounds. Some of the prizes are really great, like gift cards, apparel, and college football memorabilia.
Service was efficient. The interior of this place is really neat, kind of a modern rustic feel.
I'll...
Read moreI have been here twice this week alone! This restaurant/pub has an amazing atmosphere. Quite a few seats -20 maybe- at the big L shaped bar as well as multiple sit down tables and a few booths. Lovely(assume local) art on the wall plus a handful of tv for sports.
The bar: bartenders are very pleasant (and beautiful, both male& female counterparts) I LOVE a mojito so of course by nature that's what I ordered as my first drink. It was a perfect drink, no premade service for that, I received a freshly muddled blissful beverage. On the second one I asked for it to be stained because of the mint and the bartender was happy to oblige. On my second trip I tested the margarita and was satisfied. The mojito is was better but it was still a relatively fresh margarita. Did not taste too premade! The third beverage fractured is the Bahama Mama- my friend ordered it, it's not my choice of beverage but it was still good.
The food: my main goal was drinks as it was a little later in the evening and I was just meeting a friend for drinks however, let me tell you..this is why I returned, and so quickly! Thirsty First has the very best hot wings I have had in a very long time. I used to frequent WH & Hoots but their service and quality have plummeted in the recent years. Thirsty First's wings had a very crispy outside with a tender, very juicy inside. I ordered the "hot" ones and belisimo! They were well coated without being soppy, but you can always...
