When I first walked into Coffee Coffee, I could see it was unlike any other coffee shop. The scent of freshly roasted coffee permeated throughout the establishment. The room is large and sparsely decorated, not cramped and gaudy like many places tend to be. I was introduced to the owners by the friend who had suggested we go, and they were both friendly and personable. Among other things they informed me that they were coffee roasters, not brewers, and when asked explained the difference. Feeling welcomed I began to peruse the room. On one side there was a display with some history and facts about coffee (no spoilers, read it yourself). There were small personal tables in the 'cafe' area, and two couches on the other side (which are incredibly comfortable, might I add.) The next part of my journey was the counter. The menu above held a variety of delicious sounding foods, beverages, and desserts. The display case held a variety of pastries, and the counter had a few coffee dispensers labeled with their contained flavor. I was handed a small glass and invited to try each type of coffee, they were each personally described to me as I tasted. While they all were amazing, it was quite a warm day, and I decided finally upon an unflavored iced coffee. The owner, Lynn as she introduced herself, retrieved my order. I was handed a glass with iced coffee, coffee iced cubes, and directed towards the cream and sugar. I prepared my beverage and took a sip. Now I'm slightly embarrassed to say this, but I was surprised that the iced coffee was just as delicious as the hot had been (it seems that does not happen often.) My friend and I made our way over to one of the couches, sat down and listened to the music playing through the speakers. We chatted for awhile, just enjoying the comfortable atmosphere.
At this point, I decided to try some of the food. I went with a grilled cheese, as I was not feeling all that well that day. My order was delivered to me much faster than I had expected, as was my friends. Now I will not spoil the experience by describing my plate, you will have to see that for yourself as well, but I will say: It was by FAR the best Grilled Cheese I had ever tried. My friends Spinach Pie slice was given rave reviews as well. We spoke to the owners for a while longer and they informed us about the variety of entertainment they host, including an open mic night and coffee tastings. Now I'm dragging on, so I will summarize for you.
Coffee Coffee is a fantastic establishment, and regardless of if you are a casual coffee drinker, or a coffee connoisseur, you will not be disappointed with a single...
Read moreWow. Words do not begin to describe the quality of this place. The art form of the perfect cup of coffee. The owners Barry and Lynn know this well. This is the highest quality coffee I have ever had in my life. Working in cafes and restaurants as a server I have been exposed to a lot of different coffee brands, roasts and flavors.
I first visited coffee coffee the week of Christmas in 2024, I was in the area from Pennsylvania visiting family. My cousin Brad highly recommended coffee coffee and Im glad I took his recommendation. He told me about Barry and Lynn's story, and how delicious the bourbon Santos is.
When entering you're greeted by what may appear to be the smell of coffee, but upon further inspection, is a refined art form in the coffee space. They also have other drinks, bakery items and breakfast sandwiches. Barry and Lynn pick beans themselves from Jamaicas blue mountain. They had a hannukah and Christmas blend, both were seasoned with chocolate truffle extract. They have multiple strains of coffees and have multiple roasting methods.
Blue Mt and bourbon Santos are my absolute favorite. I'm obsessed and can't get enough. To make it even better, the caffeine content is actually lower than your traditional cup of coffee. The average cup may have around 80mg whereas coffee coffees cups may have around 50mg. The advantage to a lower caffeine content is the ability to sip all day without a significant crash.
Barry and I spoke at length. He informed me of coffee regulation throughout the world, and how America has zero coffee standards. A Starbucks operating out of Manhattan vs a Starbucks operating out of London will follow entirely different QAQC procedures. All of their coffee is organic, and if the highest quality.
I'm not local to the area, and I miss the space and company of Barry and Lynn dearly. I still order and have their coffee shipped to me in Pennsylvania. I cannot emphasize this enough. This is the greatest coffee you will ever try. I look forward to being able to visit again...
Read moreCon artists work here. All I can say is, $6 grilled cheese sandwich. I have been coming here loyally from 2013 to late early 2017 and I'm glad I don't anymore. Barry Goldman is a lazy owner and lies about his product While the coffee is organic and roasted at the store, he will roast for hours a day, coffee will be on shelf for 10 days and he will say its fresh, lying to the customer.
His wife Lynn runs the company, while he's on his ass playing scrabble after sitting on his ass just roasting. Their son comes here and I feel sorry for him, Barry does nothing but yell at him in front of the customers.
Employees usually get fired in 2 weeks. In my time being here, Barry has burnt through 5 chefs, 3 of which I thought were awesome people who lost their jobs. Cashiers are miserable and trust me, he's probably hired another 20 people by now. Because making coffee and cleaning is so hard.
Place is supposed to look roomy and cozy, but its a mess. Bahtroom is unsanitary.
There are better places. The Coffee Factory is alright. Coffee Roasters Farmhouse is much better( they do cold brew unlike Barry) and they don't...
