I ordered from Grubhub, it didn't take too long and my food was still nice hot and fresh when it got to me. I ordered "grilled cheese and bacon sandwich", what I got looked more like your standard toast, egg, sausage and homefries plate. I probably should have realized when I was asked what type of eggs LOL. Not sure where the bacon was in this dish.
While I didn't get a grilled cheese sandwich like I expected, I am not upset about that at all. The toast, eggs with cheese, and sausages were PERFECT. exactly the type of thing I was hoping for, delicious dirty diner food. The home fries are perfect and plentiful.
Biggest shock for me was the pancakes. I ordered 2 blueberry pancakes, was a little confused that they cost $9.90. But I see why. THEY ARE MASSIVE! Probably 9-10 inches wide and almost an inch thick!!! I could feed a family of 6 with these things! surprisingly they weren't that good with real maple syrup from my fridge, but the table syrup they provided did the trick, and tasted slightly of vanilla. I ate half a pancake and put the rest in the fridge. moaned between every bite.
Overall excellent! pricing is reasonable, portions are generous, and has those nostalgic diner taste & texture I was...
Read moreHorrible experience, I have bad allergies and the last time I was here I was treated with up most respect and told if I didn't mind waiting an additional 20 minutes for food I ordered,I wouldn't have to be cautious about with my allergies that she would be able to cook to my needs. We drove 45 minutes today just because of the wonderful service, just to be told this time with the most attitude I've ever recieved, that this will never happen again. If we were busy this won't happen, this is ridiculous. As I told her once I got in here that I can not have butter she throws a heaping amount straight onto the grill. Even with signs all over the restaurant, regarding allergies, to be treated this was is utterly disrespectful. I will never come back to this place again. If only we had the cook from the first time and not Deb the owner I assume this time. I thought for once I'd be able to have a nice breakfast place that would get my business, turns out that's not possible with Deb working here...
Read moreMy daughter and I did a girls weekend in Salem, MA. We were looking for a really good breakfast place, and being from the NY/NJ area, we admit that we are snobs about diners in other states. They either don’t exist or simply don’t compare to the food quality and service in our home area. All of the other breakfast places in Salem seemed just too touristy. We’re so happy to have found Deb’a Diner. Authentic people and authentic top-notch food. I love finding the places that locals prefer, and Deb and her staff seemed to know everyone who walked in, greeting them with a low-key truly personal connection. And we have to say, Deb’s beat out all of our NY/NJ diners hands-down. Wish we lived closer. We’ll be back. Just go, if you’re in...
