This is a food-truck-pod meets mall-food-court and Iām not mad about it! The atmosphere is low key and itās inside, which we know with Oregon weather, we all need shelter while we eat. There are a bunch of different places to choose from and our little group got food from 3 different places, then sat in the bar area so we could chat. It was a Saturday evening around 6 when we got there and it wasnāt too busy, but picked up closer to 7:30. Tables were clean and most people got their food pretty quick. There are enough tables for couples, as well as families, and outdoor picnic tables.
My husband got a chicken burger from Rex and a ton of fries. I had 2 of the Honey BBQ Pork Bao sandwiches which were SO GOOD. I never tried Bao before so it was new and so delicious! The chubby fries were some of the best fries Iāve had too. I almost finished the whole plate! Our friends got two different pizzas from La Lucciola and they liked them! We will definitely be back to try...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: Thanks for the informative response! Building codes and such DO make a lot of sense when it comes to signage limitations, so given that info glad you're able to have any signage at all! Also, if I'm ever in the market for a brick pizza oven or double fryer, I'll stop in and see if we can't work out a deal. š Cheers!
Delicious food vendors, probably some of the best in Salem to be honest. The problem is this place is strangely hard to find [being on a main road downtown] and doesn't look like a food hall/court from the outside. "Fork Forty" is in big letters, on a small sign up high, and "Food Hall" is in super tiny letters that are pretty hard to see from a distance or driving by. For awhile I thought it was some over-priced kitchenware storeš¤£š¤¦āāļø. I am so glad I know all that food is inside now because the selection is incredible, diverse and priced fairly. I'm pretty much hooked on the Syrian food...
Read moreWe took the fam on a Saturday afternoon. The music made it hard to have conversation, but there was great food for everyone. Chubby Bao for Dad and me - he liked the teriyaki and rice, while I had a tofu Bao with jalapeño slaw. The sandwich was bland, so I will try one of the meats next time. The fries and slaw were great. Mom and Aunt had Syrian spice lamb over lettuce. They cleaned their plates. Hubby got a burger and fries from the burger place and he said it was great. We also got baklava for dessert at the Syrian counter. It was really good with loads of pistachios and honey. A really solid version that was less sweet than I'm used to, but really delicious.
Added note for owner: This made me laugh! We had a great time. So glad we tried it out. We'll be back, even if we have to talk a little...
