If you’re looking for a coffee shop that offers much more than the usual, Joho Coffee is an absolute must-visit. Located in a cozy corner, this place is a haven for anyone who appreciates expertly crafted coffee, delectable donuts, and a welcoming atmosphere. My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed, and I’m excited to share my experience!
Let’s start with the coffee—it’s beyond amazing. The beans used at Joho are of the highest quality, and every sip delivers a depth of flavor that speaks to the craftsmanship behind each cup. Whether you’re ordering a classic espresso, a silky latte, or something more adventurous, the coffee is always rich, smooth, and balanced. The baristas truly know their craft, and it’s evident in every drink they prepare. The espresso, in particular, had an incredible intensity, with a well-rounded flavor profile that lingered just the right amount of time. If you’re a coffee enthusiast, this is a place where you’ll feel at home.
Now, the donuts—oh, the donuts. They aren’t just donuts; they’re a true craft. Each donut is perfectly made, with a crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior that practically melts in your mouth. The variety of flavors is both impressive and mouthwatering. I tried a chocolate glaze and a maple bacon donut, and both were excellent. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and the maple bacon had just the right amount of savory and sweet balance, with crispy bacon bits that added a wonderful texture. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill donuts; they’re thoughtfully prepared, with premium ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors.
The staff at Joho Coffee deserves special mention—they are, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve encountered. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The team takes the time to answer any questions about their offerings and offer recommendations. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular, they make you feel like part of the family. The service is prompt, friendly, and never rushed, which makes the whole experience feel more personal and enjoyable.
And let’s not forget about the alcohol offerings. Yes, Joho Coffee goes beyond the typical coffeehouse experience by offering a selection of alcoholic beverages. From craft beers to unique coffee cocktails, they’ve got something for everyone. It’s a fantastic option if you’re in the mood to indulge a little more, and it gives this place a distinct, relaxed vibe that stands out from other cafes.
On top of all this, Joho Coffee offers free WiFi, making it the perfect spot for anyone needing a workspace or just wanting to relax with a laptop and a cup of coffee. It’s a great option for freelancers, students, or anyone looking to get some work done in a calm, welcoming environment.
In summary, Joho Coffee is the perfect place to treat yourself to exceptional coffee, indulgent donuts, and great service. The combination of expertly crafted drinks, artisanal donuts, a cozy vibe, free WiFi, and alcohol options makes it a standout spot. Whether you’re just in for a quick cup of coffee or looking to relax with a donut and a cocktail, Joho Coffee has you covered. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI love Jaho, but I loathed watching the old man owner yelling at the baristas behind the counter because they were throwing out bad food and that they were apparently not doing their job correctly. He was making them cry. The baristas are the reason why I continue to go to Jaho. They know my name and they know my order.
To have the owner, a physically large man in a position of power and authority yell so violently aggressive at these college aged girls working a minimum wage job in one of the most expensive areas in the country is disgusting. The baristas were visibly tense and very uncomfortable. All the customers could see it. Jaho markets itself as safe and welcoming environment for all communities, but it is obviously not the case when the baristas aren't even safe.
And let's talk about the owner yelling at the baristas because she threw out bad food. I've never seen the owner in all the years I have been going to Jaho, but I see the baristas nearly every day. Who has a better idea about rotten food than the baristas? I eat there often. I do not have a high paying job, it's actually an internship with required hours. I have multiple disabilities. Getting sick doesn't just negatively impact my income, but my health, and career as well.
For all the readers, Jaho is a delightful place. The baristas are the kindest people who have ever walked the earth and they are the reason why I continue to go to Jaho. I have never gotten ill and that's because I see the baristas taking care of the place. My concern is not them, evidenced by the owner's tirade about them keeping the place healthy. The owner needs to change. Or at least I hope so much he isn't the owner so he can never step foot into...
Read moreHusband and I were visiting Salem Winter Island Beach and wanted some caffeine beforehand. It was a Sunday morning probably around 9/10am so I'm not surprised it was busy, but it did take awhile to get my coffee. Not terribly long, but I got it about 10 minutes after ordering. We weren't in a rush, so it was really not a huge deal. My coffee was super tasty and I grabbed one on the way out too! We got bagels, everything bagel with hummus and unicorn bagel with plain cream cheese. I found the bagels to be the perfect amount of crispiness and a really good amount of cream cheese (Dunkin', I'm looking at you). The variety of menu items, especially coffee and boba/jelly flavors was impressive and I definitely took advantage of that! I wish they'd had some non dairy milk alternatives at the stand with creamer and sweeteners, especially being a coffee shop.
They were kind and had good service. I appreciated the vibe and it was a nice moment hearing the staff sing to some of the pop music they had playing; it's nice to see people happy at food service jobs. They have both line ordering and touch screen ordering which was so nice because I often make edits to my coffee like Splenda and almond milk.
One last thought, when I was ordering my to go coffee, I also added a pastry - "Niko's pastry" - and when they went to give me my order, the counter staff was confused as to which pastry I wanted because apparently they are all Niko's pastries, which is fine, but I thought it was a special pastry or something based on the fact it was on the touch screen menu haha. I just chose the tastiest looking one so I wasn't bothered, just took...
