A cozy pub in Salem, just a block from the Witch Museum, is the perfect spot to pop into while exploring the town! 🧙🏻‍♀️🧹We arrived around 4:45, just before their 5 PM dinner service began, and the line moved quickly—we were seated within 20-30 minutes. Pro tip: arrive earlier for drinks before dinner starts, and you’ll smoothly transition into dinner time while avoiding the wait. We were seated outside on the patio with pretty views of the streets. As the sun set, the charming streets lit up, and it was fun to people-watch, especially with everyone dressed up in October. The inside had a cozy atmosphere too, but the outdoor vibes were perfect for a fall evening. For appetizers, we had the burrata arancini and curry fries. The fries, in particular, were a pleasant surprise—the curry was delicious and complemented the fries perfectly. I also tried the pumpkin Shipyard beer, which tasted just like pumpkin and added to the fall feel of the evening 🍂 For our main dishes, I had the shepherd’s pie, which arrived with an oozy layer of cheese on top and was scrumptious. My boyfriend had the steak tips, and he loved them. The fish & chips were also quite good. I was really happy with the food and service, but what truly made the experience special was the location. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy great food while soaking in the charm of Salem 🎃

The food is just so good! If you come to Salem, please go to the Olde Main Street Pub. You will not be disappointed. Eric, our server, was so much fun, even though he isn't a native Bostonian, lol. We enjoyed being in the heart of Salem while having a delicious meal. The half of chicken dish was very moist, and I'm not sure how they got the skin so crispy, but it was amazing. Tasted like an upscale Thanksgiving dinner. We also had their signature burger, and the smoky flavors with bacon permeated our car with our leftovers. The fries are a must!!! Get them on the side if they don't come with your meal. Move onto the street corn. SPEECHLESS! Hands down the best I have ever had. Obsessed with the tiny onion straws on top of it. I would have licked the plate clean if I didn't have any manners. Thank you for a great meal and a heavy hand on the adult cocktails!

Make sure you come in early enough for food, the kitchen closes at 9:30p, because it's top notch! Our bartender/server Eric was fun and talkative, which is always a plus for me, but the food was the feature here. I ordered the Potato Gnocchi and it was by far the best I've ever had!!!! The tomatos were perfectly sweet, the gnocchi were just the right mix between soft and firm, and the cheese was a great balance to bring it all together. My wife got the steak tips which were cooked to perfection and came with house mashed potatoes that left you wanting more. Large beer, whiskey/brandy/bourbon, and cocktail selection made it easy to find a drink to compliment the food.

The food was pretty good, I had the “Chicken O’Brady” which is basically just a grilled chicken sandwich with italian marinate, cheese, and bacon. I really enjoyed it. I don’t normally like grilled chicken but the marinade taste and brioche bun made it stand out. I also liked the fries which had a seasoned, cajun style, they matched the sandwich well.

The restaurant had an alright atmosphere, but it could have been better. It’s in a nice location just across the street from the Hawthorne Hotel and Salem Common and it’s got a modest pub on the corner look. The inside feel is a bit lackluster, especially on the side I sat away from the bar where there’s only tables. It was way too dimly lit and the walls were pretty bare so there’s not much to look at and I had to squint at my own food. I did like the upscale wooden style of everything though.

The service was not good. The waitress (Lindsey) never introduced herself or asked how I was, she just came up and said "did you look at the menu?" when I had only been sitting for like two minutes, and she never asked what drink I wanted, I had to add that I wanted a Coke after ordering my meal. She also only gave one word answers when I was asking about the meal I was getting because the menu didn’t describe it very well. The food came out pretty quick but after that she never checked up on us, never asked how it came out, or if we needed anything. The drinks were tiny so I finished it quick and I didn’t get another one until the end of the meal when I was about to leave anyways. She just acted as if serving me was a burden and avoided my table almost every time she walked by.

Overall, I liked the food and it’s definitely not the worst place to be enjoying a meal, I’d only return if I felt sure I’d be getting better...

Wife ordered me a burger with no cheese as I’m allergic to it. Burger comes smoothed on it. The other server who dropped the food takes the plate back and says they’ll make another one. He literally came back with it less than 2 minutes later and all he did wattempt at scraping the cheese off and brings it back to the table and pretended it was made fresh. THAT DOES NOT REMOVE THE CROSS CONTAMINATION and remaining dairy/cheese from the burger. The guy could have made me extremely sick due to his lowlife tactics. The original server (blonde girl) took the order right and apologized for what he did. Unfortunately I had to leave the restaurant as I could not trust they would do the right thing after that. I highly suggest if you have a food allergy to stay away from this place. As the next time it happens it could be fatal for the person who’s too trusting.

In response to the owner replying to my review. He has no a clue on what he’s talking about and literally fabricating the story as hes typing. Obviously a low life to continue to lie, about it and now accuse my wife of forgetting my allergy. Like really? It’s not even remotely believable. But obviously predictable considering the original situation. Perhaps the “owner” been involved maybe they could try and sell me the fact they “didn’t” scrape the cheese off my burger. Meanwhile with tiny bits of cheese still on the bun and burger. But that must have been in my imagination. The “owner’s” response is a clear indication to steer clear of this place. Zero...

We just ate here on Sunday. Our server was very friendly and helpful with our food questions. Unfortunately the gentleman who "greeted" us at the door and brought us to our table was not at all friendly or welcoming. He actually appeared miserable like he was annoyed for some reason. We'll go elsewhere from now on (Rockafellas was amazing).

Follow up: To be clear, we are not affiliated with any food establishments in Salem, this was our first time visiting Salem. I mentioned "Rockafellas" because we had a good experience there. We also enjoyed "The Village Tavern", the waiter was top notch as was the food. The host at your place was not only unwelcoming when we came in he was also rude later on. You as an owner should learn to listen, be apologetic and stop going on the defence or trying to turn it around on the customer (as I noticed by reading other reviews and responses on here). Not a good look.

LOL - Thank you! Your follow up post proved my point of how you don't like to listen...hmmm, I wonder why that is. You also proved that you really do not care about customer service or customers by stating if someone doesn't like how an employee acts then they should just go elsewhere. My mentioning of other restaurants that had great service and food was not meant to rile you up but to point out that there are many other places in Salem that know how to run a good restaurant. But it obviously bothered you. Maybe someday if you make an effort to improve your pub you won't be so bothered. Have...
