The food is pretty good. I had the "Loaded Tetris Tots" for an appetizer, which is just Tetris-piece shaped tater tots covered in beer cheese and bacon bits. The cheese is really delicious but it is pretty filling. I got the Margherita pizza for my main meal and it was alright. The mozzarella didn’t stay on very well and the sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking but the bread was nice and crunchy. I also had some of my girlfriend’s fries and I enjoyed them. The drink glasses are pretty small and the food is a bit more expensive than I’d like. The restaurant has a good atmosphere. It’s way better than the old Bit Bar location, with much more space inside and it’s very close to Salem’s downtown, being right on Derby Street. With way more arcade machines, TVs and murals on the wall, and a (mostly) teen/young adult crowd, it feels kind of like being in an 80’s movie. If nerdy culture isn’t your thing, maybe try somewhere else. I didn’t have time to play any games but there’s plenty to choose from for those who do. The service wasn’t too great. The food took a while to come out and the appetizer came out at the same time as the entrees so we had to eat them simultaneously. Once we were done we had to wait a little while more for the waitress to come and give us the check, but she said she was new so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. The portable machine she provided to pay with was actually super useful, cuz it calculated the tip for us and we just put our cards in and signed right at the table, which made things go much quicker than the average restaurant. Overall, it’s a pretty good restaurant and I’d go again but there are things that could have been better.

Got a sneak peek tonight at the new Bit Bar location in downtown Salem. Really like the new space and additional games. Was sad to see no qubert - one of my personal favorites. But it will be in rotation so I will be back to find it. Space at the location is great. Nice big bar and lots of space. More video games and now there is skee ball and air hockey. Waitstaff was great, even on this "preview" night. Sometimes things can be bumpy the first couple of nights. There is plenty of the old staff mixed in with some new staff. All super nice and knowledgeable. Food was slightly improved. But it's not great. It's ok to snack on something but much of the food is frozen. Bit bar if you are reading. Been visiting your restaurant since you opened. Love the games and fun atmosphere!! But so much of the food is frozen. And it really is too bad cause if you made even the burgers and a few things by scratch it would make this place incredible. If I could get a fresh (not frozen patty burger) made for dinner; me and the family would be in there weekly dropping money on food, games and drinks. Extra star for having: 1- gluten free chicken fingers! Yum!! I still do wish they made their own - honestly its not that hard- but for frozen chicken fingers they were really good. 2 - dedicated gluten free fryer!!!! Big bonus for this!! It is a total treat to have to not worry about having fries that have been cooked in the oil that gluten has been cooked in. All in all love it here! Will be coming back often.

I found out about this place through Groupon.I had a lot of fun here!! I haven't played arcade games and pinball machines in years! Galaga, which was very popular here, Star Wars, Pole Position, "Prepare to Qualify", Donky Kong and many other video games available! The pinball machines were where I had a lot of fun! I am not a "Pinball Wizard 🪄", 🎵 there has got to be a twist! A pinball wizard's got such a supple wrist!" 🎵 Oops 😬! Sorry! There was Star Wars, (Classic) Doctor Who , Venom, Terminator, Godzilla and other fun games. Venom will launch two pinballs at you! I had a Windjammer, house made strawberry 🍓 jam, lime 🍋🟩 juice, mint, starry & Ginger Beer. Yum 😋! I ordered a Caprese Royal Panini and I enjoyed it very much! There were flat screens showing old cartoons, such as X-Men and 🗾 Japanese cartoons. I couldn't hear 🙉 them but I still wanted to watch. There was a family sitting underneath the flat screens and I didn't want them to think I was starring at them. My server was very friendly and I didn't have a problem processing my Groupon. I wonder 🤔 if I was given more tokens than I had paid for. I was able to play ▶️ soooo many games and a few multiple times! The only issue I had was that it was loud 🔊. The games couldn't be helped but the music 🎶 was loud and everyone had to raise their voices to be heard. Fortunately, not Amber! If you are into video games of the past and pinball, check this place out!!

We stumbled across this spot while touring Salem. Being children of the 90s, it caught our attention, and we had to check it out. The place has tables sandwiched between 80s & 90s arcade games, which you can play for a quarter. There are TVs playing 90s commercials & shows and 80s & 90s memorabilia. This place was very thought out with the themed menu names and bathroom doors, even being gamer related. As for the food, we continued to be impressed. We were greeted by a cheerful servicer and glasses of water. Before we could even finish a game, our food arrived. Our starter was their spinach artichoke dip, which appeared to be homemade with fresh spinach and artichoke in a creamy garlic sauce. On the side for dipping was a mixture of tortilla chips & pita bread. We didn't finish it due to our meals and the garlic creeping up. One entree we got was the fried BLT with tetris shaped tots. It was slightly overcooked, but the chicken cutlet was juicy & and tender, and the bacon was smoky good. That was washed down with a "very creamy" delious cream soda. The second entree was the pulled pork sandwich. As expected, it was messy and sweet with a light bbq taste. The side pickle was a little on the sour side. The lemonade, however, was sweet. "Bro they have the blitz arcade game from 98."

Came here for the first time last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was attentive, delightful menu of cocktails with video game/pop culture themed names, extensive beer, wine, cider, and hard seltzer choices, and a fun menu with gluten free and vegetarian options. It's all ages before 8 pm and becomes 21+ after. The games range from skeeball, air hockey, lots of classic cabinet arcane games, and quite a few pinball choices, too. The only downside was that a few of the games were out of order (not all had signs saying so) or malfunctioned after one play. Also, their server goofed when a certain beer was out of stock. Instead of suggesting a similar style beer, he brought out a beer from the same brewery, but it was a different type of beer. Just because it's from the same brewery doesn't make it a valid replacement. I would come back to give it a second shot and recommend this place to others in Salem, but just be aware some games won't be playable.

As a family living in Boston, we consider Salem our home away from home & have visited 2 to 3 times a month for the past 10 years. Salem offers a ton of top notch restaurants, & for whatever reason Bit Bar Salem has always fallen behind other places to eat. That was until Dec. 27th when we visited for the 1st time following the Fire & Ice Festival. We were greeted by a friendly host as soon as we walked in & brought to a giant sized booth. A couple of quick minutes later, Barbara, our server was energetic & suggested a creative way to enjoy my ordered Allagash White, which was impressive & appreciated. We loved our meals, Bavarian Pretzels, Grilled Cheese w/ Tomato Soup, Mac-n-Cheese, & homemade Clam Chowder, with the freshest & huge clams ever! The kids meal even came with $3 worth of quarters to enjoy their great inventory of nostalgic 80's & 90's arcades! We're excited to come back to Bit Bar Salem & would love to bring a group of friends!
