On a 5 day visit to Salem, MA this restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel general manager as his number one choice.

We arrived at 5 pm and asked for a table on the patio, which offers nice view of the Pickering Wharf Marina.

For appetizer we shared an order of Goat Cheese ($12), which was baked with roasted garlic, mixed olives and balsamic glaze and served with freshly baked herb bread. It was delicious.

From the Grill Fish Menu, where you choose your fish and your spice, we ordered Atlantic Sea Scallops with Lemon Beurre Blanc ($27). All dishes in this category come with smashed red bliss potatoes and vegetables of the day. This dish was served like a salad with scallops on top of greens, which was okay but I would have preferred to have the scallops served with the Beurre blanc with potatoes and vegetables on the side, as it was described on the menu.

From Entree selection we ordered the Roasted Chicken Dinner ($21), which is lemon herb roasted chicken, lemon scented fingerling potatoes and fried brussel sprouts. Unfortunately the sauce was too salty and the dish came without the brussel sprouts. They had left out the brussel sprouts because my wife told the server that she had shellfish allergies and apparently they fry the brussel sprouts in the same oil as they fry shrimp and other shellfish. The decision to leave out the sprouts is commendable but no one bothered to mention this ahead of time or offer a substitute. So my wife asked if they could saute some brussel sprouts in a pan, which they did but not a spec of salt or pepper was added.

The bottom line, the chicken entree and the brussel sprouts were a total disappointment. The server, after checking with her manager, did not charge for the chicken.

The service was friendly and prompt.
