Rae's Coal Fired Pizza — Restaurant in Salem

Came here for a small reserved work get together of 16 planned people. When you walk in, it is absolutely gorgeous with their giant fish tank that is well cared for. The entire front is great to look at. But no one greets you, and we all stood around trying to figure out what the heck to do before we actually got taken to the back about 10-15 min in…. To the back which looks like an old VFW or legion club. Narrow tables with minimal room to share the pizzas we all got. Several of us ordered drinks from the bar, and most of us were complaining. Sodas were flat, my mixed drink didn’t even taste like it had ANY alcohol in it, and when I asked for more to be put in the waitress was okay but the bartender came over watching her give it to me with his hands crossed over his chest all upset that I sent my drink back! Wasn’t the most comfortable feeling and then got charged for extra alcohol to boot. The crust of the pizza is prob the best thing they have going for them tho! Amazing crispy and flavorful, though one of our margarita pizzas had next to no mozzarella on it. Overall it has huge potential, and would really probably be a great spot for a date night, or smaller group gathering but they really need to do something about the back room and check their bar /...

Visited this location yesterday at dinner time for their $5 large cheese pizza special on Mondays and Tuesday’s and we were NOT disappointed!! We were greeted by Andre who was so kind. He knew we were there for the pizza lol and put the order in nice and quick. I got the Rae’s punch cocktail and it tasted amazing and packed a subtle punch. The pizza arrived quickly and perfectly cooked. The sauce to cheese ratio was perfect and the crust had the perfect pillow fluffiness but a nice crunch as well. Exceptional service and to die for pizza, make a no miss combination. A must try. The last place you'd think to find some of the best pizza to grace your mouth. From the amazing fresh ricotta to the pomodoro tomatoes. Good luck not eating a whole pie. Then add in axe throwing and indoor golf, huge sports oriented TVs, and a great bar!
