Sweet Java — Restaurant in Salem

I went to Sweet Java with my friend this morning for the first time, I ordered a Nutella açaí bowl and a small latte. First, almost none of the prices are posted on the menu. I order and the cashier tells me I owe $21.63. I was really surprised but I paid and asked for my receipt, but it’s not itemized so I don’t actually know what anything cost. My friend also asked for an intemized receipt and the cashier said they “don’t do that.” They also got both of our orders wrong. I ordered my bowl without bananas and they still put it on so I had to ask them to remake it. They lost our coffee orders, we waited like 10-15 minutes and finally went up to ask the status of our orders. Somehow they mixed my latte up with a Spanish coffee. My friend’s coffee was never made and when she asked for it, they made it and her hot coffee was not hot. The bowls were good but they were NOT $15 or however much they were good. I’m pretty patient with order mix ups, but for over $20 there shouldn’t be any mistakes like that. So disappointed in this place. Terrible, so I walk in I see 3 brownies and banana bread I told employees I want to buy the brownies and the bread so they bring it to the cashier and I asked to reheat all of the brownies because they looked cold they said “we can’t the oven is off” I said ok it’s fine when I sat down to eat with my brother and cousin there was ice particles on the brownies and they were half frozen. Not only was it frozen but it was like 12$ the banana bread was okay though. After my cousin ordered tropical bunny for 8$ when he received it, it was like extra small and it had no taste. OMG what a gem!!!!! The coffee and specialty drink selection is amazing. Enjoyed a cappuccino, the Honey Vanilla Latte, and Spanish Latte. Perfection!!! The Açaí bowls were fantastic. FULL up with treats throughout. The Cloud Sandwich was filling with cheesy eggs, chicken sausage and cheese. The sausage, egg and cheese and bacon egg and cheese were delicious.
