If I could give them No star I would. I ordered two pizzas, a steak bomb with the sub roll toasted and an Italian Sub with just pickles and oil. The girl taking my order asked "so you don't want letters tomatoes...I said no....all I want on it is all the meat that comes with it and pickles and oil...she asked again so you don't want onions either? I repeated the same thing....all I want is all the meats that go with it and for vegetables I just want pickles plus olive oil. She came back and said they don't have Sub rolls so would I want it on Italian, I said yes, that's fine and thought...what Pizza and Sub place runs out of sub rolls? She then came back and said "sorry, we don't have Italian bread either....all we have is wheat, rye or focaccia bread....I chose Focaccia. When I went home, which was 3 minutes from there, I opened my Italian sandwich and all it had was Focaccia bread, pickles and olive oil... Nothing else...Image attached. I then checked the receipt and she for some reason typed no on everything including the meat except for oil. Somehow they put the pickles in it...lol...worst part is, I paid $11.51 plus tax for it Pizza was one of the worse we tried and the Steak Bomb was definitely not toasted Sub roll and it was soggy as hell and very greasy. Place did not look very clean either. I Highly DO NOT...
Read moreI love Vesuvius. I have been going there since I was in middle school, primarily because they have excellent gluten free pizza and I have celiac disease (allergic to gluten/wheat). Yesterday I had ordered 2 pizzas, one gluten free pepperoni and one North end. After I picked up the pizzas and went home, I had noticed after my 7 year old cousin grabbed a slice that they had given me a cheese pizza not pepperoni. I called and notified Vesuvius only for them to tell me to bring the pizza back. I tried to explain that it had already been touched but they still wanted me to bring it back. When I arrived there, they asked me for the pizza so that they could “reuse” it for another order. I asked to speak to the manager which was not there. After explaining for around 7-10 minutes that my 7 year old cousin had already touched it, they finally gave me my new pizza. They never apologized or tried to reason with me. Frankly, I find this disgusting that they would have the audacity to reuse someone’s pizza for another order. I had worked at the Vesuvius in Marblehead for a few years and this would never happen there. Whenever there is a mistake at the Marblehead location, they apologize and offer you free items off the menu to make up for the mistake. I’m very...
Read moreVesuvius is consistent. When you call, you consistently get a rude, rushed person on the phone. When you arrive at the restaurant, you consistently are ignored by the staff as you are seemingly interrupting their conversations. When you get your pizza, you consistently get a mediocre, bland, uninspired product at a premium price. You are consistently treated by staff as if they are doing you a favor. You consistently can taste that some of the appetizers are frozen. You consistently wonder how a topping like onions cost 2 dollars. I consistently wonder why this place is so popular. After getting a pesto pizza recently that was a flat out an incorrect order and the counter person offering me no solution other than to wait another hour for a remake, I am done. I would go to Vesuvius because of it's close location to my home, but that's it. All done. I would rather spend my money at a place that actually cares about your business and gives a good product....
