UPDATE #2 (5-22-22) Seating is still the same - small close knit tables revolving around the bar. Be prepared to run a tab -- it's just one of the quirks. My son and I checked out the "Cheerwine" cocktail specials - I had the lemonade Cheerwine and he had the Whiskey Cheerwine (loved it so much he had TWO!). Moved from inside seating to outdoor, on the deck seating to hear live music. Paid for a round of drinks for the musicians! Ope!!! Food came out and we headed back in to eat. I had the steak special (8oz strip served w green beans and tomatoes w a small side salad and roasred potatoes)!. The kid had the other special which was Shugs chicken Philly and fries. Needless to say my $24 steak did not stand up to his $14 Chicken Philly with peppers, onions, melted provolone, Chipotle mayo and fries. Overall a great experience for a hipster kind of vibe for Salisbury on a Sunday afternoon. It's a bit pricey but you won't find anything similar. UPDATE #1- Unique little place - restored house turned into a very small restaurant and bar. Has about 7 or 8 tables total, plus seating for 5 at the bar. Everything is ordered and paid for at the bar. Our food was served by the chef. Appetizer was bruschetta - overpriced, but good. Had the chicken sandwich and the steak sandwich- both were good. They make their own fries and have homemade salad dressings --- the blue cheese on the fries is the bomb!!! We went for lunch during the week and were able to take our time. Did not care for having to order and pay at the bar (had to leave tip before service) before getting food or service. Otherwise, would like to go back and try their mac 'n cheese.

This place is a hidden gem. I honestly had a wonderful time soaking in the atmosphere and alcohol of this place. Gingers revenge, Carolinabis, Elderflower cocktail all had a great unique taste. Benny Hagerty preformed live music, and he was beyond amazing. Sadly there was no food since the kitchen closed down. Its great to see local artists paintings on walls as well. Service was quick. Would go out of my way to visit this place once again.

Absolutely delightful speakeasy hidden in downtown Salisbury. Music, food, spirits amongst a welcoming atmosphere of creative types. There's always something on special with the menu rotating with the seasons. Looking forward to summer and more of Shug's Lemonade!!!

It pains me to leave a 1 star review for this place but I feel I’m left with no other choice and don’t know of any other option to get the owners attention to resolve a misunderstanding. I’ll get to the reasoning for the 1 star in a second but , first I want to say that I have no issue with the food, the drinks, or even the service or atmosphere. This is an exceptional place that is fun to attend and has a great atmosphere. That being said I have to leave the 1 star because I was banned from this place due to a misunderstanding. I’ll explain why I was banned as I was told and as a buddy of mine told me who talked to the owner on the night I was asked to leave. Before that night I was sent a private message by the owner who used to be friends with me on Facebook. She was explaining something in a vague way about me causing problems with people or something of that sort. First of all, I’ve never caused problems for anyone and have always minded my own business. I responded to the message explaining I had no idea what she was talking about and I’ve never done anything to anyone in any sort of way and asked if I could get an explanation.I never heard back so I didn’t think anything of it. After that probably a month later I went in to get some food to go as I wanted to try one of the specials they had. When I arrived I sat at the bar and was having small talk with another customer. The bartender said something about how the owner talked to me. I explained I received a message and was unsure what she meant. The bartender then got quiet so I left after a few awkward moments. I got home and messaged the owner through Facebook asking what was going on and what I needed to do to resolve it. I received no reply. Flash forward about a year or so later, I am with one of my buddies and he was wondering where a good place to go was. I suggested this place as it was always a favorite of mine. We went there, and immediately told I needed to leave. I asked why, and the owner said something about me bothering people online or something. Which is not true at all, I tried to explain that I had no idea what she was talking about and that what she was saying I supposedly did was not true and she got mad and told me to leave. I respected her wishes and left. I was then told by my buddy that apparently the reason the owner and I guess an employee said was because I bully people online and have multiple Facebook accounts or something. Something that is not true at all and something I’ve never done. What apparently has happened is either one person or multiple people who apparently want to cause problems have somehow convinced her of this. Which is ridiculous because I’ve never bothered anyone, I’ve always been respectful and I always kept to myself when I was in her establishment and anywhere else in town. I have no idea why anyone would lie to her and convince her of ridiculous stuff like this, but I’ve never bothered anyone , harassed anyone or done any of the things I was accused me of. Im not going to accuse her of lying about me because she genuinely believes what she was told . However it’s not true, and it does upset and bother me that there are people out there who would go around and make up stories about someone who doesn’t bother anyone to a point that they are banned from one of their favorite establishments. All I want is to get this resolved and get the ban lifted. Like I said I genuinely do like this place and I recommend it to people and I want the owner to do well. I don’t have anything against her or anyone else. And I will happily change the 1 star into a 4 star review as soon as the ban is lifted and I am allowed back. And if I’ve done anything that would give the owner an impression of negativity on me in any way I truly do apologize. However , I haven’t done what I was accused of and I do not think it is fair to ban someone based on a false accusation. I look forward to getting this ban lifted and this...

When I was in a few days ago I had the worst service... after reviewing other reviews I was confused because it seems like everyone loves it here and has never had a bad experience. I almost didn't do this review however I feel that it's necessary to bring this to the owner's attention. It seems this place might lack a little bit of accountability when something happens and they try to erase any negative review. that's fine you can erase all of the reviews that you want but you won't be able to erase mine because it's justified. Don't be Petty if you do choose to respond to this review either... maybe just don't respond because your response doesn't really matter I just want you to be aware that you should possibly talk to some of your employees about their attitude and maybe some of them shouldn't be customer facing.

Also the previous reviewer did start mid sentence in error from what I can tell but if you have common sense you can tell what he meant 😂. Obviously this person spilled coffee all over him and on the floor... maybe you need to review your cameras before you respond to this review just saying. I feel like we encountered the same employee... it is possible she was having a bad day but again she shouldn't be customer-facing if she can't handle a bad...
