Refused Food Service For Not Letting Them Scan my ID: Have eaten here a dozen times. Ten times under the former manager, and twice under the new manager. The Former Manager was Very Professional, Polite,Courteous and People Oriented. Being age 57 I was refused service for the first time simply because I would let the New Manager Scan a copy of my ID into the State's Age Verification System. I had no problem with him looking at my ID for age verification. I don't even drink any alcohol at all, I just enjoy going there for the food When I'm in town which is usually twice a month. The food is delicious and the two ladies that work the restaurant and bar are Super Nice, Polite and do an awesome job talking care of you. However the New Manager was Rude, Loud and Very Disrespectful. When I say Loud he was determined to let all the other guests know that he was refusing me service and that I had to leave. Since I dont even look 35 years old or younger there's no reason under Utah Law for him to find it necessary to Scan my ID into the State's Age Verification System. The Utah Law states the following; "The ID scanner requirement applies to all social bars whether or not they choose to restrict access by way of membership. Bars must electronically verify age before anyone who appears to be 35 years of age or younger may gain admittance. Bars must be able to read, print, or download the data in the ID scanners." So I ended up going next door to the Indian Restaurant "Rajwadi Pointe" Eating some of the best Butter...
Read moreMy first time at Amelia’s was on 2/9, during Super Bowl Sunday. I didn’t eat anything just drinks, but my friend ordered wings which he said was good. We returned on 2/14, for food and drinks and yes the food was good. So our prior server told us fireball shots were 2 dollars (fireball Friday) so we decided to order a couple of them. Once the new server Heidi took over she said the shots were 3 bucks, now all I said was “The last server charged us 2 dollars” Heidi proceeds to say “if you can’t afford a dollar then you need to find another bar then walked off) at this point I was in complete shock of the disrespect because it wasn’t about the dollar it was about the wrong info being provided, a dollar ain’t nothing compared to what I make weekly. And why try to send me to another bar to give them my business when I already chose Amelia. So I pulled Heidi to the side and asked her what’s her problem? Heidi proceeds to say that we came in on 2/9 (Super Bowl Sunday) and didn’t tip her on a 100 dollar tab and she only makes 2hr, so from the looks of it she was still hurt about something 5 days ago. Let’s clear something up tipping is optional and I wasn’t aware my friend didn't tip because he paid for the tab, i use to bartend so I’m well aware about the importance of tips, either way what she said was unacceptable. Moving forward I’ll take Heidi advice and visit another bar and give them my money respectfully because this felt racist to me, but I...
Read moreHaven’t even tried my food yet because I’m so appalled at the way Christian treated me! I simply asked him if they had shrimp cocktail and he said no but that they have “other shrimp” so I asked “what kind of shrimp do you have” he then says the kind that swim in the ocean! Obviously trying to make me look and feel stupid so I said yes I get that but like is it breaded sauce or what and he said “it’s the pink shrimp” I said so raw and he said yes and added to say “you didn’t ask the question right” My food was finished but I asked him because I had not paid my tab yet if I could order some shrimp as well and he said no your food is already done. I asked can I do another order for some shrimp and he still insisted no. So guess someone else is going to get my business for some shrimp and all orders going further. To make things even I worse I told him I was on my way home from my brothers funeral yesterday so to treat me the way he did and at such a sensitive time is appalling! I’m disgusted. Let’s hope the food is good. The last waitress seems nice. Edited to add that the steak was the toughest steak I’ve ever had, veggies were amazingly yummy (broccoli and carrots) the baked potato was also good as it was not over or...
