I work down the street, so me and my co-workers usually order takeout from here every day. However we've noticed the quality of the service and food has gone down lately. There use to be a really sweet lady who would have our orders ready to go. As soon as we walked in she already knew we ordered. We loved it because we only have 15 min breaks. So it was defiantly convenient. For the past month or so, we've had poor service! For one, the front desk worker looks miserable or has an attitude. Usually we'll take a big order for other co-workers. So we'll send one person with the money for 5 different people. My co-workers won't have cash so they'll give me their cards. But the last time I did that, the cashier scolded me and said the card holder had to be available and we can only use cash. I understood but she could have been more polite about it. You would think it wasn't a big deal. When we're regulars anyways. They messed up on our orders twice. They forgot to put a soup in, where I had to turn around and go back. I was just in there today and the girl put my soup in someone else's order. I caught it before I left and returned the sandwich to get my salad. We've called in before and was put on hold and the girl never cam back on the phone. So we called back and there was no answer. I always order the bowl of soup. But it doesn't come in a bowl. It's more like a cup. They don't fill it up anymore either. So I'm paying $9 for a half a cup of soup. It's sad because this place has the best salads as well as breakfast. The last time we ordered the country biscuit platter. There was hardly any gravy. It dried out the biscuits and sausage. I'm not one to complain. But it's frustrating when you find. A wonderful place with high quality home made food, and to see it go down it's too bad. I don't mind paying, but I want to get what I'm paying for. So I think we'll be looking elsewhere for lunch. It's sad because I recommended this place to a lot of people. But now...
Read moreThis is a honest but very negative review for the restaurant and DoorDash. We ordered through door dash which was literally across the street from our hotel. The order was 45 minutes late so I reached out to the dasher, who didn’t speak English. He finally showed up at our door with an unsealed to go container that was missing half of our order. I called the restaurant, and they hung up on me three times. The 4th call I reached someone who barely spoke English. He said that the order did not include the pot roast entree. But it did on the DoorDash app. So I called DoorDash customer service and they told me that the Perkins Restaurant didn’t have the pot roast entree. My problem and the reason for the 1 star is that no one communicated any of this until the guy showed up at our door. If the restaurant and DoorDash are going to partner together to serve the public then the menu needs to be updated and if an item isn’t available, just let someone know. I would have no problem with that. But when you order in good faith and the incomplete package is not in a sealed bag like every other DoorDash order I’ve ever done, it’s a total failure on both ends. And DoorDash needs to insure that their delivery people can communicate effectively. The restaurant and DoorDash put this delivery person in a terrible position because of a complete lack of communication. We were literally using our translation apps to try to communicate. If you order from this restaurant, which I’m sure is an trying to be a good business, make sure you are extremely thorough and probably have a Spanish interpreter with you. My motto has always been “effective communication eliminates conflict”. Perkins and DoorDash failed completely in...
Read moreLess than great experience today. Everytime we go, we each order the same thing: hungry man breakfast with two over easy eggs, breakfast potatoes, and pancakes. We know what it looks and tastes like. I don't know what the problem was today, but things were just not right! We waited nearly 35 minutes for our meals. The bacon was practically raw, when it is normally crispy. The breakfast potatoes we're not crispy. They were barely warm to the touch! The pancakes shrunk in size; both diameter and fluffiness. My sausage link was burnt on one side while my husband's link was cold when you cut into it. My eggs were over medium, bordering on over hard. There should be consistency over time, sure. But there should undoubtedly be consistency between two identical meals ordered on the same ticket! Other tables were struggling as well. The table next to us had ordered four salads. They only brought out one, and he got done with his meal before the other three were delivered! At the table next to them the two ladies received their meals and were completely done before they brought out the meal for one of the guys. He got halfway done before they brought out the missing omelet that they had requested 2x for the final guy. There looked to be plenty of staff in the kitchen, and I recognized several of them from previous visits, so I'm not sure what was going on today. Hopefully today was just an off day and service does not...
