Drove 13 hrs from Washington state to arrive at 1145pm. Check in was fine. Left with the hotel for food never set foot in the room until we got back. We enter the room and with in 5 minutes of us arriving we had a ringing phone. The person (management) on the phone started to tell us they have been getting complaints about us walking around. That if we were not quieter and they get 1 more complaint, then we would be asked to leave. The management then came to the room to check to make sure we were not having a party and to check the amount of people in the room. We had two kids with us. Everything by the book. We were then told we can not shower or walk around. I'm so upset at the management I may never enter a super 8 or Wyndham establishment ever again. The room was non refundable and we had just traveled from 830 am until 1 am. So needless to say we had to go straight to bed and not risk eating, walking, or basic hygiene. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel in my life. The room wasnt clean as it should be and the coffee maker didnt work in the morning either. Not to mention the people right outside our window drinking and partying in the parking lot. Management didn't say or do anything about that.

The front desk guy was not pleasant. The rooms are only ok. The elevator looks like someone threw up in it. Hasn't been cleaned. No air in hallways or stairways. All ac are unplugged and plugs are laying in the walk way of stairs. Some guests left socks on the stairs. The t.v. only had basic channels and if you want to watch something hope you like static pictures and having it go to nothing but static. The pool is small and indoors. Haven't tried the free breakfast yet, but from the shell of the place I am afraid too. The photos speak for themselves. Also, no hotel has ever asked for a $100 deposit after family or a company booked online for me. I've traveled a lot and the most I've ever been asked was when I was on the phone direct with the hotel booking and asked for $50 deposit upfront, not when your checking in, and refusing your room that was booked for you unless you pay the $100 supposed refundable deposit. They tape all their signs on the doors, missing door numbers, missing trim, showing wires. This hotel needs help. Also, if door doesn't close properly anyone can walk right in. Locks don't properly click on place. The beds are terrible! I will never ever , ever come back here.

so far ~3 hours wasted and plus my girl date fell through; paid through booking.com and the front desk clerk, after I gave him my military ID told me I needed an ID with address. I called motel 8 customer service and they said it depends on the location’s hotel policy and advised to speak with Manager (currently waiting until next morning); Called booking customer service and I told them long time ago hotels asked for the address to match the credit card address and I wanted to know why this business would require (modern age of debit card pins and chips); they said normally they don’t ask specifically for address on ID; they advised me I’d get my money back and they would get me a different motel. I THEN looked at the reviews on google maps and all the negative reviews are highly accurate and CORRECT. I highly suspect the positive reviews are paid fake reviews to balance the negative reviews because I DOUBT anyone received ‘nice enough’ service to leave a positive review. If you don’t pay attention to the NEGATIVE reviews, you will most likely find out you wish you did; if your stay was highly pleasant, which I DOUBT will happen but if it does, you are LUCKY.

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! DO NOT STAY HERE OR WASTE/GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! So for 4 nights it was almost $500 plus a deposit, even though i booked online and they had my credit card on file. The beds had bugs in them, and I got bitten, and yes i did see the bugs. When we used the TV it only had 6 to 8 working channels, even though it specified on the paper about the channels that there should have been at least 25 or more working channels. There was either static or a farm scene screen saver for the non working ones. One of the plugs in the lamp didn't work. The microwave had difficulties working. The hot tub wasn't even hot. There were other peoples socks left in my friends room. There was only less than a quarter of a roll of toliet paper in our bathroom and no new ones for when we ran out. The guy that drove the shuttle at night almost got us in multiple wrecks on our way back from the airport 2 nights in a row. We didn't trust his driving and he scared my 16 year old daughter with his driving. He drove in the middle of 2 lanes and almost ran into other moving cars and cut other cars off and he didn't bother to stop at any of the red lights if there wasn't a car coming. He needs fired!!! The guy that picked us up in the morning from the hotel didn't take us to the airport even though we were taking the train from there and he dropped us off at a train stop in an area we weren't familiar with. Even though I specified to him that we needed to be taken to the airport and i told him that we wanted to be dropped of at the airport and he still didn't listen and just did what he thought would be better and what he wanted. By doing so, he made us miss our train to the covention center. So we had to wait another 20 mins and were late to what we needed to be on time for. The girl at the front argued with me about the shuttle being able to transport us to the airport every 30 mins, saying that it only goes every hour on the hour which was not true since we took it the 2 previous days at 9:30 am. The hair dryer didn't work. Oh and on our last day there, even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door, the maid came in and woke us up 4 hours before the check out time. We had the door completely looked with the deadbolt and the top of the door lock on and she undid all that when it wasn't even close for us to have to leave. The maids even went and woke our friends up in their room down the hall 3 different times in the same day that morning. She unlocked their door as well even though it wasn't even time for them to leave either. In their room, they had the same troubles with the TV and part of it didn't work and their phone in the room didn't work either. I will never stay here again and we do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Pretty much the only thing that was good was that we could get a free shuttle to the airport and back everyday for the convention we were in town for. You'll regret it if your stay here!!! That's a promise!!! I wish we could...

Our car was subject to a major burglary on the motel parking lot and needless to say the surveillance cameras did not capture the event. Somehow however it did capture other events adajcent to our car that night. The staff explained it as "well sometimes the cameras don't pick up motion as they are supposed to". Again they picked up a man taking one step by the side of the crime scene but did not capture a violent burglary in the exact same spot, including breaking out an entire window of our car and ravaging through the car for five minutes. It was a clear night and the surveillance cameras still were unable to capture the license plate of the robber's vehicle as it entered and left the parking lot at a slow speed. Staff also stated that the motels surveillance videos cannot be saved as a file and that "no one could ever figure out how to do it even in my six years of working here". Motel staff also told us that these sort of burglaries " happen all the time".

So basically to me, the Super 8 at Salt Lake City airport has knowingly installed a surveillance system that is not capable of the most basic tasks that one would expect: catching motion, viewing all locations in the lot, viewing a license plate on a clear night, and saving videos for later analysis. The staff made it very clear to us that this happens all the time and even suggested that we look in dumpsters around the area, these same staff failed to get a view of the license plate as the car strolled out of the parking lot, mind you the attempt for the staff to view the robbers plate occurred five minutes after hearing from another guest the sound of a "gunshot" coming from the back, somehow the staff only seemed to get away from paper work to say farewell to the vehicle when it was just exiting the lot.

I could go on and on because we lost important personal items worth around ten thousand dollars in total. It seemed to us that they could of put an end to this by responding and simply taking a look outside and noting a plate number, and whats the point of surveillance cameras if they don't work? They can't view a plate number? Really?

Not to mention when we arrived the nonsmoking room we were assigned smelled strongly of smoke, the main light was broken and filth had come up through the pipes, coating the sink. They did move us to a new room. The way this Super 8 handled a major burglary on their property was severly unprofessional and their response system in place is...

Worst Experience Ever!! We stayed at this hotel before a recent trip out of Salt Lake International Airport. We were told the rooms were being remodeled and not all of them were completed. Because of this, we could understand the boxes piled in the hallway. Considering those boxes were for new mattresses, and old mattresses were piled high in an open room next to ours, we expected to have a new mattress in our room. No. We were placed in a room where we were privileged to hear the bathroom faucet dripping all night and the WORST mattress I have ever slept on; it was worn out and lumpy. We paid to leave our car parked in the lot while we were away and had requested the shuttle to the airport for our departing flight. The shuttle was not there when it was time for us to leave. The desk clerk was very apologetic and offered us a yogurt while he called again for the shuttle driver. Upon returning to the airport, we called for the shuttle to pick us up and take us back to the hotel. I was told the shuttle would pick us in 15 to 30 minutes. The hotel is 2.3 miles from the airport! We waited over 30 minutes and called again. This time, I was told the driver would be there in 4 to 6 minutes. Almost 45 minutes after our first call, the shuttle arrived. On the 4 minute drive to the hotel, the driver said the deck clerk "forgot" us. How do you forget someone is waiting for the shuttle?? To put the insanity of "forgetting us" in perspective, when we arrived at the hotel, there were 6 vehicles in the parking lot! That's counting any employee vehicles. Not a busy day!! Definitely won't stay here again! And, as a travel agent, I will recommend my clients...
