Best Vegan “restaurant” in Salt Lake City!! @Blatch’s Vegan BBQ The brisket was still delicious, just to clear. This was filmed during winter, so make sure to check the website as there are often new food items. #veganfood #Foodie #saltlakecity #utah #

Possibly the best food spot and hidden gem in Salt Lake City is located at someone’s house. A small business. And everything made is vegan. Yes, it still surprises me to this day. Can’t believe I visited this place for the third time. Didn’t had a single bad meal. Food Review: BLATCHS Barbecue

If you’re on the hunt for a barbecue joint that feels like home while delivering flavor-packed dishes, look no further than BLATCHS Barbecue. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes it clear that this isn’t just a place to grab a meal; it’s a community hub where the owners treat everyone like family.

The culinary magic begins with the food. Every bite is a celebration of bold, mouthwatering flavors. Their smoked brisket is an absolute revelation—tender, juicy, and infused with a perfect blend of spices that will make your taste buds dance. The Rueben sandwiches are perfection, slathered in a tangy sauce that strikes a delightful balance between sweet and smoky.

But it’s not just the food that makes BLATCHS special; it’s the heart behind it. The owners pour their passion into every dish, genuinely caring about the quality of their food and the experience of their guests. They take the time to chat, share stories, and ensure you feel right at home. You can feel their love in every bite and every interaction.

Don’t miss out on their sides, either! The mac and cheese is creamy and indulgent, while the poblano potato salad adds a refreshing crunch that complements the richness of the vegan meats. And if you have room for dessert, their homemade cookies are the perfect sweet finish.

Whether you’re a barbecue aficionado or just someone looking for a delicious meal in a welcoming environment, BLATCHS Barbecue is a must-visit. With its incredible flavors and the kind-hearted owners behind it all, this spot promises a dining experience that’s as unforgettable as it is delicious. Get ready to be delighted!

Me and my husband came here for the first time on Wednesday! Note They only do one dish on Wednesdays and Full menus on Fridays only!

Also! Of you have allergies to gluten, they have different options available which is nice! They mostly use seitan so if you have allergies be careful!

Other than that!!? The best food around and I MEAN IT.!...

At the time of writing this, this is review #184. Of my past reviews, I have reviewed several BBQ places from Albuquerque, NM to Claxton, GA. I have only given one of them 5 stars. ONE! That 5 star rating was given to Midwood Smokehouse in Columbia, SC nearly a decade ago! And yet, Blatch's tops it in quality!

It's hard for me to compare Blatch's to other BBQ I have had in the past because it is its own unique BEAST with lots of SLC character. Shoutout to them for having a menu item called the Angry Korean and having a sticker that says "The Church of Veganism of Platter Day Sauce."

I ordered the jackfruit pretzel monster with green chile mac and vheese (let's call it what it is).

The menu doesn't lie! The pretzel monster was one sloppy MONSTER of a sandwich possessing a very tart flavor balanced out somewhat and complemented by the jackfruit's sweetness. The crispy onions added a little bit of much needed crisp, and the garlic aioli was icing on the cake.

The mac and vheese was a creamy, flavorful side that gave me a second wind. Having lived in NM, I was expecting green chiles to be chopped up and placed inside the mac n vheese itself. But no, Blatch's somehow incorporated its flavor into the vheese, giving it a nice kick.

As I was leaving, Chef Blatch (Who is very passionate about his craft and means business) gave me some FREE ROLLS! I toasted some up for breakfast the next morning, and they were fantastic! They were a little sweet, yet spiced, pillowy, and textured perfectly.

WELL DONE BLATCH! The food is unique, and straight ️‍🔥 in quality! This is now one of my top picks in SLC. I will be...

Vegan, vegetarian, omnivore… no matter who you are, if you love good food & good people, you have to try this place.

Everything that comes out of their kitchen is crafted expertly, the flavors are insane & it comes from their careful attention to detail + the creative genius of their processes. If there’s a special, my advice is get it. They do not put something on the menu until they’ve decided it’s worthy. If it’s BBQ day, get some of everything (this is honestly my best tip for dining here). DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR HOT SAUCES. (All of them). If you eat meat, I can assure you, you will not miss it in whatever you get. They choose fresh, local, healthy, top quality ingredients and carefully prepare them over days (some ingredients months!) or however long it takes to get it perfect.

Chris & Joy are also two of the most loving humans you could ever possibly meet. They have created a comfortable, homey, loving vibe in the restaurant and the line is always full of folks excited to talk with them. They also frequently help the community & those struggling within it, and are deeply focused on a no~waste approach.

12/10. There are very few places as worthy of your money, time,...
