Super cheap place to grab some brunch. The food is good but it just takes a while for it to be made. I've gone in before to get a quick sandwich to go an ended up waiting 25 minutes. Last time I was in I asked if I could swap out the bacon on the meat lovers omelet for some onions and the employee said no. He told me that I couldn't swap out any ingredients or substitute them. That definitely bugged me. The place doesn't pre-make meals so I don't see how it's too much to ask them to substitute an ingredient I know they have for another. Instead I could only choose from the 4 or 5 choices they have without exception. It's not a huge deal, but there's no good reason why they couldn't do it, especially since I was wanting an ingredient thats cheaper for them to put on there instead.

Aside from that, the food is good. Their cinnamon rolls are great and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone. Just be aware that any alterations you try to make to the food on the menu (which is limited) won't be made and that you may end up waiting a...

I’ve lived near Straw Market for almost 2 years now. I get breakfast or lunch here probably 3-4 days a week, & there’s never been ONE time that my food wasn’t completely flawless. The food is absolutely delicious EVERY SINGLE TIME. The $1 Cinnamon Rolls are literally to-die-for, the breakfast burritos are off the charts, the crepes are phenomenal; even the BLT’s & Club Sandwiches speak to me.

Also, prices are suuuuper low, which allows me to always leave a good tip. Moreover, the entire staff is the salt of the earth. They are always so kind, generous, and totally attentive. So much so that they will probably remember you if you frequently get food.

I’m always happier after going to Straw Market. I will be coming here for brunch long after I move to a different location. Hope this place never goes away. Thank you to Julie & the whole staff! You guys are real...

Was recommended this place by a friend due to their tasty cinnamon rolls and cheap food prices. We were excited to try this place out as it seemed pretty cute. There were quite a few people ahead of us waiting on their orders and we were the first in line. We waited for 30+ minutes to have our order taken. There were about 5-6 employees working in the kitchen, yet not one came out to take our order and seemed unbothered at their increasingly large line of customers. Our final straw was when they kept answering their phone to take orders, yet could not even help the line of customers who had already been waiting for much longer? This makes no sense. Will not be back and would much rather pay a fortune for food I know will be good and have great service! Although I guess you get what...

This was close to where we were staying and had good reviews so we thought we'd try it. I ordered a crepe w Nutella and bananas and my husband hot a plate w an egg, hashbrowns and bacon. All of it tasted good to us. The person that took our order, I'm guessing, was the owner and she was super nice to us and everyone that came in. Several people came in for cinnamon rolls to-go while we were there. This place must be known for them. We were tempted to get one to take w us but we were just too stuffed. After bfast we took a nice stroll through the Avenues neighborhood and kind of walked off our bloat. Great place and we would love to go there again. They are only open until about 3pm and do offer sandwiches at lunchtime.

Cute little dinner in the lower aves. Very nostalgic place— giving very homespun diner vibes. The service here is great! I didn’t catch her name but the shorter blonde woman who was both cooking and running the register was very sweet and really patient despite being very busy. The food is what you expect— the breakfast plate is pretty standard/ nothing super special but reasonable priced in comparison to other places. The cinnamon rolls, though? To die for! I was apprehensive because of the way they looked at first but they were so good I had to order more to go! Will be back.

Great experience! We were looking for an affordable eatery after spending so much in SLC and we were so surprised to see the bill was less than half that we would pay at other places. Wonderful service and friendly conversation by the woman working the register and the cook. She genuinely cared that we patroning the Straw Market! We got 3 $3 cinnamon rolls (which are vegan-friendly) and I ordered the vegan burrito with hashbrown and veggies - make sure to ask for salsa on the side as it enhances the flavor! 😋 We loved this place - one of our fav restaurants in SLC!!
