I was super excited to check out this cafe since it’s totally gluten free and I have celiac disease. Unfortunately, the employee who was working today completely ruined the experience. I got to the counter and was told I’d have to wait until she was done cooking the other orders before she could take mine. No problem, she seemed to be working alone and I can understand trying to get caught up. After ten minutes of standing there waiting, she finally came back to take my order but proceeded to tell me “just so you know, if you order food, it’s going to take 30 minutes.” I feel like she could have given me that info before I waited the ten minutes it took for her to take my order. I ended up not ordering anything at all because I felt like I was inconveniencing her. If I was the owner, I’d be pretty upset my employee was trying to dissuade customers from purchasing food. The friend I was with was kind enough to share what she got with me, and honestly the food was subpar. Maybe on a different day with a different employee it would have been good, but I was pretty disappointed with the...

I love good customer service and Hallowed Grounds checks all of the boxes. They have a wonderful, knowledgeable staff who project great vibes, awesome coffee and a chill place where you can do the things you need to do in a cool environment.
I've never went in and specifically ordered anything there, I just ask the staff to make me something good and they kill it every time. They also have an awesome tea selection.
The location is perfect right off of TRAX, is located across the street from the downtown library. You can plan your day around Hallowed Grounds. Wake up, cruise over and get your morning fix, walk around the corner and get some face tattoos and back around the corner to crush some dragon grill at Chuck Chow's. You can make your way back to HG for wrestling, hardcore show and other cool booked events.
Go get it, have some fun and high five...

Coffee and food? Even better.
We had the Slamming Salmon, and it lived up to the name. But let’s talk about the real star here—the atmosphere.
In a state where so many places look and feel the same, Hallowed Grounds is a breath of fresh, delightfully dark air. As a metalhead and horror fan, I felt right at home. The gothic aesthetic is unique, intentional, and beautifully done—an absolute haven for those who appreciate something different.
Beyond the “killer” vibes, the staff was warm and welcoming. They even gave our little Chimi a pup cup on the house and were genuinely excited to have him there.
To those who don’t “get it”—that’s fine. Not every place needs to be for everyone. But if you’re looking for incredible coffee, fantastic food, and a space that celebrates individuality, Hallowed Grounds is it.
I’ll be back. Again...
