I made a reservation and went for my birthday dinner and when we first showed up the hostess (General Manager) just pointed the direction of the table instead of walking us to the table. We had a party of 10 people originally however some did not show up due to unfortunate circumstances and only 7 of us showed. Our waitress was Hannah. Hannah was very short, rude and not friendly at all. While waiting for our party to show we got told by the server/waitress (Hannah) and the general manager more times that we needed to leave by 7pm than being asked if we wanted appetizers or drinks. When our party showed my daughter had to find another waitress and walk up to them to place our orders. One member of our party showed up a little later 6pm however still did not get asked if she would like to order something or have a drink. The food was under cooked on a few dishes but the others tasted good. When we asked to speak with the general manager she came over and started speaking with us but laughed in our face and told us that we were told that we needed to be out by a certain time. Instead of saying I'm sorry you have been treated that way she just smirked and laughed the whole time. We asked for the owner's name and number and she told us well he will not care about this situation either. We still made a call to the owner and left him a voicemail. Waiting on a return call. The way we got treated there was horrible. Never have I been treated so unfairly and with disgrace. Giving them 1 star is even too much. My daughter has been there on multiple occasions and had Hannah as her waitress and never had a problem. We did leave by 6:57pm. Someone in our party went back into the restaurant around 7:20pm and did not see another party at the table. Why rush us and treat us unfairly? Worst treatment especially for my birthday. Would not...

Tried them out Saturday night. Very nice ambiance. Looking forward to a nice dinner. Unfortunately, the service was poor and the food and spirits were weak at best. I had a pizza, wife had the Bolognese, daughter had the tenderloin, son had a cheese pizza. Server: Nice kid, irritating though, and forgetful - I asked for another drink, after about 20 mins he asked "Oops, I forgot your drink, did you still want it?" I said "yes"...and it still took him another 20 minutes to bring it. (Note: Absolutely no alcohol in the mixed drinks - Order wine or beer only at this place) Food delivery: Wife and daughters food came first, my pizza and my son's pizza came rolling out 5-7 mins later. Here's the issue with that; My family has manners and character; we don't start eating until everyone has their food. So, when restaurants bring the other half of the order 5-7 mins later, the first people who received their food is now cold. (Timing is very important Stoneground mgmt) Pizza: Way off the mark. OK guys, you need to learn how to use a brick oven for pizza. Charcoal soot on the bottom of the pizza and dried out flavorless crust...disappointing. I don't know how to make a good pizza...but I sure as heck know a good pizza when I eat one (And I eat heck of a lot of them). Your pizza's are bland and dry. (And I really like brick oven or wood fired pizza...yours just aren't good). Daughter said tenderloin was good, I tried a little of the Bolognese...not all that impressive. Overall - Disappointed and unimpressed for 150.00...not going back. Note: In all fairness, most Italian restaurants in SLC are not very good compared to real Italian food in other parts of the country. I see this restaurant has many good reviews, I must assume locals just don't know what...

No longer the Stoneground I loved. We have eaten here almost every birthday and Valentine's day for the last several years, for good reasons. Stoneground used to be a solid 10, perfect ambiance, perfect service and food that blew our minds. But when we celebrated Valentine's this year, we had a disappointing experience. We noticed some of our favorites were no longer on the menu and they were no longer willing to make them off menu like they had in the past. We were told they have new chefs and were going a new way with their cooking. We knew everything had been amazing in the past, so our hopes were high with the current chefs. Polenta Tots- are still amazing, but I'm afraid that was the only amazing experience we had. We got the Market Salad, because our favorite House Salad was no longer available. I was really excited about the Guava Mango Dressing on the salad and was highly disappointed with a salad that was just simple mixed greens, a few slices of mango, a few raisins, and a vinaigrette that tasted nothing of mango or guava, but like a generic cheap grocery store vinaigrette. For a small $10 salad, I do expect an amazing taste experience, not a salad that I would only eat out of courtesy if I had to. For dinner my husband and I got pizzas. He got a mushroom pizza, which he had enjoyed in the past but this time was incredibly bland and uninteresting. I got the Black & Blue pizza, which sounded fantastic, but also was on the bland side. The cheeses were so mild, I could barely taste them. Both of us asked for crushed red pepper, which I personally have never put on a pizza, to give our pizzas some sort of flavor. We are off to find a new local favorite to celebrate our special days, and we'll fondly remember the old...

Ok Choppers, this is a review in the making from the early 2000s. I had gone to Stoneground when it first opened many years ago and remember they had the best Bruschetta and pizzas. Fast forward to today I was in town and thought of my old stomping ground Stoneground, to my delight it is still in operation. I'll cut to the chase, the service was incredible Sam did a wonderful job taking care of us. We started out the evening with the Fococcino, the texture of the bread was slightly crunchy, warm and flavorful, the oil and vinegar complentes it nicely. Served in a piping hot cast iron plate the lasagna presents well. The lasagna was really flavorful. I enjoyed the homemade sausage and how it played well with the ricotta. The flavors were not over powered by the marinara sauce, which is not easy the pull off. The noodles were probably cooked, not over done as with most lasagnas. The sausage and marinara created a wonderful symphony of flavors and had my palate begging for more. Like the Dude, the Lasagna abides. Next up the filet. Tenderly served medium rare, the pink center was on point. The whipped /mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus served as a flavorful complement to the meat. Faint moans of pleasure escaped my lips as I eagerly, but not too quickly masticated each succulent bite. We enjoyed a lovely view of people watching above 400 South from the 2nd story. As fun as 400s people watching goes, The Stoneground fare is way more satisfying. One gripe is parking is in the rear of the building and there is not much of it, especially during peak time. All in all, Stoneground has withstood the test of time. SLC has a jewel on 400 south.
