The food was fine but the customer service was terrible. My family ordered food and while we were waiting my 7 months old needed his diaper changed. My wife headed to the bathroom and an employee stopped her and asked what she was doing, she said she was going to change her babies diaper. The employee said "sorry, we don't have a changing table in the bathroom" My wife asked what she should do thinking she wasn't the only mom in the history of this restaurant who needed to change their babies diaper. This employee said "you can take him out and change him on the outside table" my wife thought he was joking because it was the week of Christmas and it was below freezing so she laughed and asked again. This employee said it again and walked away. I may be little protective because she is my wife and baby but are you serious!!? I've even waited to write this until today to see if I could stop thinking about it and not write anything. The more frustrating thing was there was a changing table in the bathroom! I understand hiring quality people right now is hard but common courtesy should be a pre-requisite in the interview.
I'm not sure how to reply to your response so I'm going to edit my original review. 675 E 2100 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84106 - This was the location. As far as the description of the employee. It was a male who looked like he was in his 30's. Can't remember much more. This employee must have not known or remembered that you have a changing table in each bathroom or he thought he...
Read moreBE WARNED - THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOU A 15% TIP
They don't have cashier's but have self serve kiosks which is fine but when YOU ring up your order they automatically apply a 15% tip to your order. You have to go in and manually change it to $0.00. Why are they automatically charging you a tip? This is a fast food joint. There are no waiters. I'm even doing the job of cashier for you. This is by far the most sketchy thing I've ever seen a restaurant do and I'm surprised no one else has noticed it but I'm guessing that's what they are planning on, stealing even more money from us for an already over-priced and sub-par chicken sandwich.
Original review: This is one of the most hyped restaurant in SLC and after going to it I feel like it is way over hyped. The chicken is good, but like other people said they use a lot of cinnamon. It wasn’t completely overwhelming but there would be bites where all I tasted was cinnamon. Maybe that’s just how Nashville hot chicken is supposed to taste though, but it wasn’t my favorite. Also secondly, my meal of their small chicken sandwich, fries, extra pickles and a drink cost me $17. I feel like a similar chicken sandwich meal at chick-fil-a or Popeyes would cost me between $7-$10. Is this chicken sandwich better than both of those? Yes. Is it $10 better? It is not. If you like trying new things and don’t mind the high cost it’s worth a try but I can’t see myself...
Read moreI love nashville hot chicken. It's one of my favorite dishes, in 2019 I discovered Pretty Birds downtown SaltLake City location and drove an hour to try it right away. Very good, hearty sandwich, I moved out of state a and haven't been back since now. I was excited to find out they had a new location with better seating than the downtown location.
The overall sandwich was good. I use to get the medium however now that they have a no heat level I think that all the heat levels bumped down in spice; so my medium was essentially a mild.
I was additionally disspointed that there was barely any of their signature sauce on the sandwich, if I would have know I only got a single swoop of a squirt I would have paid the extra 50c for extra sauce on the side. It's not that the sandwich was dry with the lack of sauce but it felt like I was just chomping on the purple cabbage slaw to moisten the sandwich versus having all the flavors marry to create the delicious Nashville Hot Chicken I had come to expect.
I don't know if I'll be coming back, unfortunately they are very few hot chicken places in utah so the competition factor isn't there to help Pretty Bird go back to its former glory before expanding to its 3 locations.
Overall, it was a okay sandwich, but it was just a fried chicken thigh sandwich with alot of purple cabbage slaw on top....not was I...
