These people publicly humiliated my wife with their mask shaming virtue signaling. We saw they had a mask policy but accidentally forgot to put them on upon entering the shop because we were talking a bit with some folks outside while standing in line. When we walked in, they kindly asked if we needed masks. Good so far! We were prepared of course, because we saw the policy, and covered our faces as requeated. In fact, my wife's face was fully covered with hoody material that was 3x thicker than the mask on either of the workers behind the counter. Her whole face was covered. But the lady behind the counter still had to grab a mask, parade her virtue all the way to where we were standing in back and shame my wife by handing her a mask.
Please explain, Amy's, where your mask policy defines what a mask is and what it is not? Please show where that explanation and those definitions are publically posted so patrons would know what's defined as a mask and what's not. Reality check, it's not posted anywhere. It is terrible customer service and bad form to humiliate customers who willingly follow your "masks required policy. Your worker should be fired and your policy needs to change.
And look, we get it, the other people complaining on these reviews don't know how the governor's orders work. We actually understand, each business has the right to set their own mask policies, just like having a dress code policy. "We require masks" is no different than "No shirt, no shoes, no service." But our faces were actually covered and you didn't publish what you want a mask to be. Sooooo? It's just a bunch if...
Read moreI visited this evening, May 31st, at about 10:30 p.m., and they harassed me about masks. They said, here are these masks; put these on or go outside, and I can take your order from there. Today is way past May 21st, the date you can begin to report companies to be fined 1,000, those who insist on harassing customers and refusing to serve maskless individuals, a form of discrimination, based on our choice to pursue our rights not to mask according to the new Texas May 18th mandate that came after the March was not observed by businesses who insisted on only following corrupt CDC and their Guidelines. Our governor has made certain his law will supersede and topple anything the CDC says. And on June 4th, they definitely can’t discriminate from serving us further for choosing not to mask just as we won’t harass mask wearers who want to continue wearing it. I told them I’d just take my business elsewhere and didn’t accept their masks but wouldn’t go outside to order from there either. The employee said I can talk to the owner when I told her we can make a report against the business for refusing our service without a mask. We went to Freddy’s next door and had great Turtle Sundaes! No regrets! We love that ice cream from Freddy’s! I’m shocked the owner continues to insist their employees wear them as well. Technically, it isn’t the employee’s fault but the owner’s request. That is also unacceptable. They should also let them execute the...
Read moreThis is our current go-to Amy’s Ice Creams location as it is the only one in San Antonio. I definitely think they should open another location! This one is situated in the Alamo Quarry Market shopping center. Ample parking is available. There was a line on arrival, however, it moved quickly. All staff members were very friendly and efficient. I ordered Oreo ice cream and my partner ordered Mexican Vanilla with fresh strawberry topping. She loves Amy’s for this flavor and finds it to be the perfect sweetness. My ice cream was just right as well and delicious. The ice cream gets hand mixed with the toppings. We also ordered the tiny Oreo cake, which was located in a self-serve fridge in the corner. This had both ice cream and a small amount of cake sponge. There is merchandise like different kinds of t-shirts available for purchase. Seating is available indoors and outdoors if you’d like to stay and enjoy your ice cream. Overall a positive experience and I would...
