One of the oldest bars in San Antonio's historic southtown/King William district. The historic building still holds the same brick walls it did back in the 40s. The neon signs and a few of the bar decorations are all vintage and vibrant, date back nearly 4 generations, my favorite being an old Miller clock. The pool table available is also vintage and still only cost 50cent a game just like back in the day, whereas most places will charge you by the hour at a costly price. The dartboard is definitely new but it is one of the best dartboards in town, being tournament quality with all digital scoring. The new interior design has allowed more room for seating and gatherings. The new bathrooms outside also allow for more public use and less wait time. Also the upper outside deck gives you a calm view of the San Antonio skyline and just a great place to absorb the outdoor atmosphere all while having a cold beer or cocktail in your hand. The downstairs outside patio is also nice to get away from the inside, get a fresh breathe of air or even have a smoke. The happy hour menu is a steal, now including great craft cocktails to their menu. After happy hour, everything is still decently priced, although those who complain can drink at home! Once an old beer and cash only bar, it is now a full bar well equipped with craft beers, excellent tequilas and satifying whiskeys(just missing Wild Turkey 101 lol), 3 things Texans love the most! There is also a nice selection of gin, vodka, mezcal, traditonal domestics, and both red and white wines. The staff is excellent and exceed customer expectations. The owner, Brian, is a busy man but is very interactive when available. Kristi, the manager is very attentive and stern but provides efficient service none the less. The bartenders Charlie and Sofia are two hard hitters and deliver premiere and quality customer service with that hint of southern hospitality. The backbones of the bar aka the barbacks, Joseph and Edgar are on top of making sure the place is clean and tidy and are attentive to your needs. The doorman Josh and Steven do not play when it comes to abiding by the bars rules and in making sure the place is safe from unnecessary interactions. How could I forget the cook Israel, he has your food out quicker than a drive through joint and at times it's only him serving a packed establishment. The man can do more with two hands than a person with 8 hands could. Cant beat the burgers, chicken sandwiches, or queso flameado. There are DJs on the weekend Mr. Wayne, aka Tony Phoenix is a living jukebox. All in All a great place for gatherings, food,...
Read moreThis past Saturday I took a group of my family to Bar America that came from out of town. There were 9 of us. The night started out great. The bartenders were quick but depending on which bartender we got the prices were different. The atmosphere was nice, but the manager, Michelle was extremely rude. One of my family members had just turned 21. She had too much to drink and got sick in the restroom. She came back to the table and we called Uber to come pick us up. While waiting, she went back to the restroom with another person from our group. She came back to the table and a minute later the manager approached her and told her to follow her. She followed her and two other people from our group also followed her. Michelle, the manager proceeded to berate and humiliate my 21 year old family member instructing her to clean up her own mess. At that point she began to cry. Her mother in law took the mop from Michelle and began cleaning and Michelle began scoldi g her saying that the 21 year old needs to clean up after herself and was fully capable of doing it herself. She began lecturing my 21 year old family member and continued to embarrass her I. Front of other customers that were in the restroom and waiting in line. Needless to say, we left and none of us will ever be back. No one should be treated the way they were treated. I have seen many people get sick in a bar establishment and NEVER have I witnessed a manager or employee make someone clean up their accident much less talk to them the way Michelle did. If you do not like your job, LEAVE. Do not mistreat people because you do not like your job and all that...

They had purchased three burgers And my friend bought us around of beer and this is how we were treated, we went there to support you not to get you in trouble and plus if it was a big deal, why didn’t you tell the people that had the baby anything maybe because they were white hopefully not hope you invite us back to show everybody that reads this.
