I moved here recently and I've visited this place a few times and even thought it always takes a while to get our food the previous experiences had been decent and the food had been good until our last one. They have a very limited menu of Al Pastor tacos and some variations of them, sodas, mexican beer and flan. My last visit was on Monday night and even thought it was really slow, it still took at least 15 minutes to get 7 tacos for two people, but this time the meat was extremely dry and over cooked, the tortillas were hard as rubber and the limes were dry and completly unedible. Not only that, but when a guy in a blue shirt, who I asume to be the owner or manager saw me enjoying the latín rock playing on the speakers, decided to change the music to some tropical stuff, do a silly dance, walked to the kitchen and then walked out the front door. That seemed really weird considering me and my girlfriend were the only people inside the tiny restaurant. But anyway, food is good sometimes, really bad other times, the colombian cook is slow but nice, the cashiers are ok, the manager/owner seems really unaware or just very unwelcoming. Definately never coming back and never recomending this...
Read moreIn town for business, our son had visited about 8 months ago and said we just "had" to go here. We were also at a place for breakfast and asked the waitress for "other" recommendations, she also recommended Taqueria Los Cuates so we decided that's where we would go for dinner! BEST CHOICE EVER!!! Absolutely AMAZING! Small mom n pop establishment but THE BEST AL PASTOR TACOS I'VE EVER HAD! We got the flour Al Pastor which came with onion, cilantro, lime and the yummiest bit of grilled pineapple. They set 4 sauces on the table for you to choose your heat level I had pineapple tomato and yes my mouth was dancing, but not in a scalding too hot kind of way, but in the YUM kind of way! I also ordered some to have in the hotel the next day as I knew I was going to be working in the room all day. While we were waiting for the to go order, we also shared a Flan which was also super yummy. By the time we left around 8 pm there were quite a few people ordering. There are 5 tables that seat 4 people and a high top table that looks like it sat 8 people, there were also a few tables out side. Very cozy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TRY TAQUERIA LOS CUATES! THANK YOU FOR 2...
Read moreTo say I was disappointed with my visit would be an understatement. As someone who eagerly looked forward to the taqueria opening, I expected a lot. Neither the experience or food met my expectations. For starters, they only selling type of meat - al pastor. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't for the fact that it was just a bad blend of salty and sweet. Secondly, they charge $2.50 for a mini taco that was consumed in two bites. They have a variety of salsas, all which also lack in flavor. I tried three different menu items and they all came with premarital tortillas. Lastly, they have pineapple of the traditional tromp that come the meat, but didn't accompany any of my orders with it. Now we get to the service. There was no warm greeting. For the price and location, I can understand over paying for food when the ambience and service makes up for most of it. However, it didn't. Overall, the experience is one I never hope to repeat. I'm unsure if the taqueria hopes to thrive on unbeknownst tourist who are unaccustomed to good authentic street tacos, but as a local of Mexican descent, i am ashamed if this is to serve as a representation of San...
