Puro Taco — Restaurant in San Antonio

The owner of this establishment (Mario) started with a modest taco truck and provided decent value for the dollar in previous years as being an above average Taco Truck Contender on the strip. The truck (MB El Sazon Norteno) is still operational next door on the left side, but it seems since he opened this new location and the pizza place next door, he has only continuously raised prices till the point that the regular neighborhood customers like me, are being priced out. The prices go up as you would expect with inflation, but the double punch is that the portions have shrunk significantly. It appears he is only here now to scalp the young, drunken crowd that seeks a quick bite to sober up before driving home. Love the aesthetic and the service was quick. I can definitely see why this open environment, food truck like spot would be popular on a hot day.

To be completely honest the food was average. I was expecting more from the reviews and the presentation of the food. Clearly it looks delicious but it's just good.

Being located across from a club/bar, I can definitely see people loving the food after a night of drinks. You give me half a bottle 🍾 and I would probably give a 5-star for the food 🤣 I imagine the Hot Cheetos in the loaded fries was an inspiration after a few 🚬 😂

But overall, it's a good LATE...

Went here for French fries but they also have wings. The fries were good they look like the kind that are fresh cut daily. They had plenty of seating if you want to eat the food right there and the tables were all cleaned off nicely so you can tell the employees actually cared. The front counter was clean as well, the worker was actually wiping it and straightening it out when I walked up to it. The guy who took my order was extremely friendly. Will definitely return and try more...
