We visited on Dec.7,2023 at approx. 12:45 pm. For my daughters lunch break. The establishment is bright and the cafe type order counter is open with large overhead menu and pretty cashier to take your order. For it being prime lunch hour on a Thursday the place had only a few customers.
The order arrived fairly quickly after placing our order through the cashier
I ordered the Choose Any Two w my choice being a half chicken pomodori panini w cup broccoli cheese soup.
My daughter who also works in the Quarry, ordered the the same Choose Any Two with a half Tuscan grilled cheese panini and cup of loaded baked potato soup.
Both sandwiches were hot and looked good upon initial arrival however on my sandwich was not much of a difference from bland to boring and undercooked sourdough bread.k
The chicken appears to be processed slices of chicken approx. 3 inches in x 1.5 inches in shape. Notably it tasted much like microwavable chicken pieces. The sourdough bread was fresh yet under grilled leaving a greasy feel in taste due to the butter or oil used to "grill" the ungrilled bread. The taste over all was greasy and processed.
The soup Cheddar Broccoli being homemade was questionable. The soup had a dull and old coloring of overheated cheese soup with obvious signs of heat separation amongst the cheddar cheese base. Not recommended at all. Overall a major disappointment for the over $15 with a coffee I spent.
My daughter ordered her Tuscan Grilled Cheese without the sun-dried tomato and although it was definitely grilled bread upon opening the sandwich it was almost comical the one slice of cheese, one slice perhaps or not, was so over cooked the cheese almost became one with the bread as there was hardly anythjng to see.
I joked with her, "where's the cheese?" Playing off the old Wendy's commercial, "where's the beef?" I offered to take it back to the cashier for a possible remake however with time ticking away at her lunch break she chose to just stay with it and try the soup.
The soup she ordered was loaded potato soup. Upon arrival just the dark appearance and overheated separation visible I could already imagine the taste.
The potato pieces appeared old as if they were well overcooked "baked" potato pieces from the previous days cooking leftovers. The taste was obviously not something she enjoyed yet being hungry on a lunch break she continued to eat it however did not finish it.
Upon getting ready to leave, the cashier just stood at the register blankly staring outside as we made our exit, stopping for refills.
The choice of 4 coffee bins side by side was convenient however there were no napkins and the coffee bins were filthy from midway to the bottoms xterior. Surely the inside whiched housed the coffee itself was not any cleaner or had seen a dishwasher in some time.
The counter was sticky, the honey was empty and the sugar container had old sugar which was stuck to the corners on the bottom with no sugar to pour out inside. The creamer carafe was so dirty that old cream had formed it's own thick ring around the opening. I decided against that refill.
The soda dispensary was out of one product dispensing only carbonation that had to be dumped out. The overfiow catch tray had not seen a dishwasher in some time it appeared no more than "rinsed out".
I truly wish I could have left a better review but the entire lunch was a huge costly disappoitment at $33.19 for 2 half sandwiches, 2 cups of soup with 2 beverages.
This location in the Quarry sits up high on a large corner with outdoor seating and looks comforting and inviting. However we discovered words described on a menu along with location and actual product do not go hand in hand.
Disappointing, pricey and just not ever going to waste good money there again.
I do not recommend this establishment at all. Just...
Read more2/8/25 UPDATE FROM TODAY’S BRUNCH After posting my review from my family’s last visit in December, Mr. Castaneda (the district manager) reached out to me to hear more about my experience. He listened to every concern I shared and never rushed me off the phone. He appreciated the feedback and hoped we would return as that was not their standards. He left his point of contact and said for me to reach out when we’d return for a second chance. Honestly, I thought I would be ignored or have to jump through hoops to get in contact with him. I messaged him this morning and he was quick to respond and remembered the conversation we had. He also followed up with me after our dining experience. I am happy to say that the experience this time around was amazing. THIS was the Corner Bakery I knew and bragged about to others. The manager and staff were friendly and welcoming. They had smiles on their face and were very attentive to every customer. The restaurant was clean and orderly. Tables were clean and no dishes were stacking. And oh my goodness…the food was amazing!!! It was nice and warm, delicious and the presentation was great. The temperature in the building was perfect. No freezing temperature like before that made our food ice cold. The pancakes are the best I’ve ever had and I’ve traveled the country eating at different places. My family and I will be returning, hungry for more.
Thank you again Mr. Castaneda and the crew today for a great brunch experience for my family and loved ones who came into town to visit.

For the first time in years, my family and I left this place completely disappointed and honestly a tad disgusted. Had it not been for the chaos of my kids and family visiting who were starving and craving the amazing pancakes, we would’ve walked out. The whole place was dirty. This place used to be very welcoming but not today. No greeting or happy faces behind the register. No one cleaning the tables. No ice in the ice machine. The counter where the condiments, cup lids etc is warped probably due to a leak in the machine. The carpet was filthy. The chairs and tables sticky with gunk. The restaurant was freezing cold. Had to grab sweaters just to eat comfortably. Our food got cold right away that it wasn’t truly enjoyable. I don’t know what’s going on with the Quarry location but it has gone downhill BAD!!! I can honestly say I won’t be back here for a good while. I’ll try Corner bakery again but not at this location. Hoping this goes to the right people so they can make the...
Read moreI have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. I went in and saw a special on the door for a panini and when I ordered it, the girl said it was “online only”. I was confused by this and she explained that “people order it all the time but there isn’t a button for it”. So I would have to order it online since the cash register wasn’t programmed for it. I couldn’t find it listed online either and she didn’t know what app they order it from so I asked if she could ring it up as something else and substitute the panini bread. She said she would check and see if they had the bread. She checked, came back and said they did have it and she could ring it up for me. Seemed like a great solution.
When the food came out, it was a sandwich, not on a panini bread. I told the woman delivering it (a woman with dyed red hair) that it was supposed to be a panini and she “we don’t have a tuna panini.” I said that it was listed on the door as a special “for lent” and that the girl at the cash register said she could ring it up for me and had double-checked that they had the bread for it. At this point, the woman grabs the plate off the table, yells at me “I’m not going to argue with you” and walks off. I have no idea what she was planning to replace my plate with if they supposedly don’t have the bread I had ordered. At this point, my husband is left looking at the plate of food he ordered, which didn’t look appetizing anyway. We approached the counter and asked for the manager and requested a refund. The manager didn’t seem shocked by the woman’s behavior, but he also didn’t seem to care. Looked like some stoned-high school kid. He refunded us as the red-haired woman was glaring at me and she even had the nerve to yell at me as I left the restaurant. I guess no consequences for her. Not sure if she had a bad day or she’s always like that but I won’t be going back to Corner Bakery. The establishment should expect more from employees and the management should make appropriate buttons on the cash register for any foods they are advertising on the door (also, as we were leaving, I noticed that the girl had ripped the poster advertising the dish off the door after we ordered it. The whole ordeal was super sketchy.)
Obviously I don’t recommend this place. I think the only reason they get business is due to their...
