Corner Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in San Antonio

The food wasn't bad, not great, but not bad. The customer service on the other hand was horrible. First time going so stood off to the side to look at the menu on the wall. My wife and I decided to go with the limited time offer of the blueberry pancakes and step-daughter the pasta. We ordered and and the cashier if we wanted eggs and bacon with the pancakes. I told her no but wife said she did want bacon. This apparently irritated the cashier because she huffed and sighed as she had to change the order...mind you it was less than 10 seconds from when I said no. Paid and went to get our drinks and my wife's coffee was luke warm at best. Sat down and waited for the food. Same young lady that was the cashier brought the pancakes and said the pasta would be out in a little bit...again she was not pleasant. We waited to eat partly to wait for the pasta but also we assumed she would bring the syrup. Now the sign for the pancakes says it is served with their maple vanilla syrup. About 5 minutes later same lady brings the pasta, says nothing and starts to walk away. I ask if we could have some syrup. She literally says"oh you want that also" and I say yes. She comes back with a small plastic container like a jello shot and hands me the syrup. I ask can we get a little more and she says oh you want it for both orders. I said I thought it came with it so she ask in a very irritated manner "do you want butter too" so I said yes. She brings it out tosses it on the table and leaves.

Really unbelievable how...

The service here is hands down impeccable! We were 3 kids and 2 adults into a messy, confusing, timely fumble of order this, wait, change 3 to 4, oh, wait not 4, it's now 2, one with this three without, this drink, that drink, wait, change that to this drink... for every item about 10 changes, then getting 3 kids coloring pages, and they kindly walked us over to 4 pails of crayons, each having a one color that each kid took one of... it was a chaotic mess but the guy stayed calm, fully focused and fully engaged, not missing one beat!! what a pleasure it was to get through the chaos with someone that cognizant and calm. And then the food came... and WOW!!! talk about delicious! the eggs were especially flavorful and it wasn't bc of the veggies or avocado... the egg itself was so flavorful and a delicious base for the veggies and avocado! The pancakes were also delicious... all around a superb experience and would love to return again one day, but it was an on the way stop. Well, huge kudos to the whole staff! Thank you for such an amazing and delicious...

No shade !!! I live in San Antonio for most of my adult life and never knew about CORNER BAKERY! My parents brought me out to breakfast, so we ordered about $100+ dollars in food, sat ourselves commenced eating…. Fast forward to the end of our meal! The manager/ not sure who he is in the company, comes over since we still had a number in our order stand. And asks if their crew forgot to pull the number, so I said yes and my dad asked for the cinnamon crumb cake we purchased the dude looks taken back like… u didn’t order that!!! he says let me see your ticket my dad hands it to him… I said to him I have no reason to make that up!!! He then goes and retrieves it all with a very unpleasant attitude. We payed for good service, convenience, and a tasty breakfast not your stink attitude sir.
