We were nearby Frida, and I told Daniel Garza , the Manager that we were undecided whether to go or not, we said and think in Cuishe Cocina Mexicana, but we choose Frida. Well we were at:4:00 they just open and The manager Daniel greeted and welcomed us. He took us to our table, and then Withney our waitress arrived, gave us the menu to choose our meals. After sitting down at our table we noticed that there were crumbs scattered on the table and we called Whitney to let her know about it We were surprised by the spaciousness of the place and the good choice in its decoration, the candlesticks, a royal blue piano in a kind of private area in the center of the restaurant, Frida's paintings and the dishes that I saw on the restaurant's website menu. With a new age Mexican food style adding the very personal decoration, I mean the presentation on each plate is very sophisticated is out of the ordinary, it looked delicious.
I asked for the: Tacos Short-Rib a las Brasas and they were delicious, my sister asked for: Fideo Seco, unfortunally it was so salty she told our waitress and she told the manager, then he came to our table to apologize for the inconvenience, and told us he tasted the Fideo Seco and he said: "yes it was salty" but don't worry about it, do you want to order something else instead of the fideo, if not this wil not be charged to your check, we said no thank you we are fine, then she had ordered: Flautas de Pato, and she said were so tasty. We were surprised when we asked for salt, I mean a salt shaker, they told us that they did not have salt shakers so they brought us salt in a metal cup. So hope to come back soon, we enjoy it although the Fideo Seco! but did'nt ruin our dinner, thanks Daniel who knew how to handle the situation in a very professional manner and correct it &...
Read moreSeated in a party room tucked into a small table next to two large parties. Could not hear table conversation well due to acoustics in the room.
The website for Frida indicated that they don’t seat parties larger than 10 however the table next to us had 18 people seated. To make matters worse, one of the customers was actively vaping during the dinner session-and our table of guests could smell it and saw the vaping fumes she was exhaling into the air. The ventilation in this specific room was poor. Social distancing was not in effect because the people at the table next to us were approximately 3.5 feet away. None of the wait staff were wearing masks except one female wait staff member.
There were leftover truffle fries on the windowsill that abuts the dinner table we were seated at. We addressed the leftover residual food with the waiter and he acknowledged and finally cleaned after two reminders. There were food crumbs all over the velvet seats which I cleaned prior to seating myself. My friend’s chair had long hair stuck on the back of the velvet chair in which she was sitting at.
The venue ran out of the beer selection requested by one of the individuals at our dining table.
As we were leaving the restaurant, we kindly addressed the vaping concern and asked if vaping is permitted in the restaurant dining areas. The worker informed us that it was not, and she said she would inform the manager regarding the vaping issue. We said thank you, as we felt we addressed the concern as needed.
Not sure I would ever come back here. This was quite disappointing. I regret choosing this venue for a small birthday celebration dinner with only three...
Read moreWhat a disappointment. Made a reservation and were seated immediately. Then we waited 15 minutes before we even got any water. They never brought my wife's drink, water with no lemon... A difficult order at best. He said that everything was scratch made, keep that in mind as you read this review. We ordered the very expensive ($15) guacamole, chips and salsa for starters. When the guacamole was finally brought to our table, it was served with very large pieces of what I guess was supposed to be fried cheese, but it was burned, looked and tasted nasty. We hadn't even picked up a chip and our entrees were served. So much for the "every dish is made from scratch" excuse they use for why everything takes so long including getting water. The food was not good. I ordered the "Gringa", Al-Pastor quesadillas. It tasted nothing like al-pastor, had the taste, consistency and grease content of chorizo. The "grilled pineapple" was a joke. Some paper thin piece of pineapple that was barely even distinguishable as such. The dish was covered in micro cilantro and the (2) tiny little drops of avocado mousse was also a joke. I am not going to go into the details of my wife's meal or how we had to stop at Chick-Fil-A to get my daughter something to eat since they struggled with getting a simple bean and cheese burrito to the table again offering some lame excuse about a large order that had gotten put in. I have read some good reviews, but I didn't see anything tonight that would ever bring me back to Frida's. Total...
