Haven't been to DQ in a long time, and I see why. Went Saturday with the wifey and grandkids (2) boys. We took a minute to look at the menu it as there were customers behind us. The worker looked like he was having a bad day and treated us like crap. Because of his inpatient, he looked over us to take the people behind us order. No excuse me, nothing. That was strike 1, as we were looking to see what to get the kids he never helped us or recommended anything. It's our fault for not seeing the size cups, but he could have said something. I even said that's too big for the kids, and he heard me, but still nothing. We ended up buying the small, which is still too big for the boys, and again, he never pointed to the cup sizes. When we got our order, the banana split looked sad.. just thrown together, and the banana was mush. No peanuts or cherry.. if we needed to pay extra, it would have been no problem, but again, we were never asked. The order said caramel, which only one came with it. Wifey had to go back and ask.. the way they just added the caramel showed that there's no love or customer service. As I looked at him seeing if I was wrong, he proved me right. A young white walked in, and I saw his smile and how he took care of them. He even pointed out the cup sizes for them, and that's when I saw the kids cup. How come he didn't show us.. is it because we're Latino.. where's the district manager, the one who checks up on many DQ. The problem is that many store managers don't care. Only there for a paycheck. You wonder why so many chain restaurants are in the dumps. Your customers are the ones who keep spending their money so you have a paycheck. Customers are your number 1 priority. Being nice and courtesy keeps that check coming. He was a young kind of tall, skinny white kid working on Saturday, August 10, around 7 pm just in case.. I will be there tomorrow early to speak to a manager, but I know nothing will be done. At least I'll feel better getting off my chest.. I have thousands of readers, and I'm a professional driver, which means I meet a lot of people on a daily basis. Sad that I will share this story with many and won't be coming to DQ. Either you all get it together or in time I will read about you in the newspaper. DQ is an icon in America but with the workers you have today at this DQ they suck.. sorry, upset the way we were...
Read moreI've visited a lot of Dairy Queen in my day, all over the country, and several of the locations around the city, and this is the best I think I've ever visited (and I'm not being hyperbolic when I say this). Not only does everything come out fresh to order, but the staff really seem to enjoy their job and really radiate a joy in their impeccable service. I've visited this location several times now, and I've watched guests come in who know the team by name, and the team members come out to greet them, a sign of real friendship. I've watched multiple hugs, which just blows my mind. I don't know what the management is doing at this location, but they have something special here. It really warms my heart to see a fast-food chain location with this kind of energy. You can also tell the team really enjoys working with each other, there is a palpable camaraderie. I am a server myself, and although I'm blessed to have a tight family of friends to work with at my current job, I know that isn't always the case. I will drive out of my way to come to this location now. Keep doing what you are doing. I know a lot of people probably just pass through the drive through so they don't get to see this side of the store, and I don't write reviews very often, especially of a fast-food restaurant, but you guys should be proud of what you have going at...
Read moreWhen I said “chicken sandwich”, I expected an actual piece of chicken breast. Not a strip. A single chicken strip, on a bun. I was surprised to see this, so much so that I called the store in disbelief, just to be told that “yeah they’re small. That’s the way they come, I get them all the time.” Well if you get them all the time, why did I have to repeat “chicken sandwich” 5 times in the drive through? I know I have an accent, but my grasp of the English language is the linguistic equivalent of a neurosurgeon’s touch with the scalpel. I speak perfect English. So does the person who excused this as worth $8. It was great that they offered to remake it, as even the photo shown on the menu board clearly has at least two chicken strips in the chicken strip sandwich, which isn’t even what I ordered, but being repeatedly told that this is what is being sold is a disservice to people willing to spend their money for actual food. This is why I don’t eat at places like this. Heaven forbid another long day cause me to cut another corner and be presented with something like this again....
