KEITH LEE WOULD RATE THE BURGER 10/10 So this place is fairly new, and omg how did it take me so long to hear about it!!!! The drinks are craft cocktails that have a spin on some your favorite classic bar drinks. They have draft beer too. The menu is limited and for good reason. The love and care that goes into making each one of those dishes really comes through the plate of food. The flavor will smack you right in the mouth. The limited menu options also make for receiving your food very quickly. One of our guests out of a table of six did wait a little bit longer for her dish but it was piping hot when she received it. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts was absolutely perfect. Price wise, for two people with drinks , and 3 course meal we spent about $80(tipped separate). Seriously! For the quality of each of the items drinks and food both, and as quick as we received everything and the level of service that is an incredible unbeatable price point. It is a small place, just a little corner bar. The inside is elegantly decorated but very comfortable and cozy. You can dress up or down without feeling out of place. You order the food and drinks at the bar and then they will take it to you wherever you choose to sit. Overall, one of my new favorite places for a night out!

Visited Double Standards for the first time today with a couple of friends who are in town for the UGA vs. UT football game, and we were all blown away by the experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt the welcoming vibe of this tavern. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot to kick back and enjoy some great food and drinks. We ordered burgers, and they were hands down some of the best we’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and packed with flavor, these burgers were unbelievable! The fries were just as impressive—crispy, golden, and seasoned just right. It’s clear that Double Standards knows how to do comfort food right. We also tried their Long Island iced teas, and they were mixed to perfection. Strong but smooth, these drinks hit just the right balance, making them the ideal companion to our meal. The bartenders clearly know their craft! Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better first-time experience. The combination of delicious food, expertly crafted drinks, and a great atmosphere has definitely won us over. We’ll absolutely be back to Double Standards sometime in the near future. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a top-notch tavern experience!

Edit: I was back more recently and the service was so incredibly slow. Maybe even slower than when they first opened. We waited over an hour for so-so food that didn’t even arrive at the same time for the full party. Some people were finished eating by the time others got their order. The drinks were also just ok, mostly overly sweet. Not sure what happened between visits but it’s not a place I would recommend. I’m very glad that there is a new restaurant where the old Rosella used to be. It’s a great location and it was pretty sad when rosella left and the area was left vacant. The food was delicious and the bar was fully stocked so you could order any drink with any specifications. I order my old faithful, Tom collins, and it was very well made. It’s an old drink so I usually get odd looks when I order it, but the bartender at Double Standard had no trouble. I could not justify 5 stars because the wait time was pretty ridiculous. We waited an hour for drinks and another hour for the check. It was packed so I understand a little bit of a delay but an hour felt like it was just too long. I’m looking forward to coming back when they are more established and will update my review as needed.

First off, drinks and food were awesome! 5/5! We got the sherry cobbler, pain killer and scotch eggs. Rarely do you get a scotch egg with a gooey center. However, service was 2/5. We knew we had to order at the bar and pick up our drinks which was not an issue. The issue was initially we had no utensils, which our server recognized but never brought until asked again. In addition, the dozen oysters were never brought. We let the bar know and they clarified with the kitchen and realized they were missing the ticket. They put another ticket in, but instead of our oysters being brought, a second order of scotch eggs (which we did not order) was brought. We clarified that we were missing the oysters and had already enjoyed the scotch eggs. They then eventually brought the oysters ~50 min after the original order but it was not the full dozen. This was communicated to the server who simply replied “yeah,” but never offered to bring the remaining missing oysters and continued to do other tasks. We ended up canceling the oyster order. Overall, I would return for the drinks, but that’s it.

I love double standard already so this isn’t a “my first visit was great” post. This is more a post about continued love for this place. But yesterday my wife and I went for $1 oysters and the place was SUPER busy. There was only one bartender working the side of the bar we were on. A huge table sat down just after us and they ordered at the bar. So it instantly went from busy to OMG. Roland was the bartender and that dude has 6 arms and 3 brains, or so it would seem. He was simultaneously working the bar and working through the large group that was ordering one at a time in a line. The dude truly is a master of what he does. The drinks were great, food was excellent, but the service was stellar and in an environment where most would crack, he did not. We were even needy in that we wanted more lemons and horseradish and this dude DID NOT have time for that. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I wish I had photos to share, it alas I rarely photo food. So attached is from their IG.

This place has really good drinks! We sat at the bar and the service was a bit slow, but once we got our orders going the drinks came pretty fast. We loved all of our cocktails. It was happy hour so I got the espresso martini. Then I got the painkiller which was SO GOOD. My boyfriend got the rum punch and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! We did have an issue with one of our drinks but the staff was apologetic and comped one of them for us. I personally think the drinks are better than the food. We ordered the scotch eggs but the dish came out incomplete (was missing the carrot mustard). They explained that the chef in the back was new. We came back another night to try the burgers. The fries were nicely crispy but they weren't hot. The burger was decent but I wasn't a fan of the bread they used! I would have liked it toasted at least to give it some crunch or density. This wasn't my favorite burger tbh!
