Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que (To Go Only) — Restaurant in San Antonio

Saw this place being advertised on TV for the $5.00 Brisket sandwich. First warning, to not even try and order this was it's inside another restaurant (Carinos). So I still decide to go and give it a try. Second warning, I over heard a gentleman say he placed his online order almost a hour ago and it was still not ready. But there I go still placing my order for 3 brisket sandwiches and salad. I paid for order and she said 20 minutes. Okay that is the norm when ordering food from a restaurant. 20 minutes pass she will not even look my way. Someone else comes in from doordash and they have her wait. 30 mins have gone bye and before I even ask she says it's almost coming out. At 45 mins she tells me it will be another 15-20mins; if I would like something to drink or dessert. My husband says a refund back will do. Third warning, Manager is unable to process the refund right there and then. She needs to open a case so they can return the funds.How can you not just cancel the order then and there. My warning to you who choose to order from here expect to wait almost an hour for orders to go and carry cash so you can get your refund right away if you don't want to go through this issue. Let me start by saying, I was seriously looking forward to eating here. I have eating at Famous Daves BBQ in North Dakota several times and was my place to go when ever visiting so when I found out one was in in San Antonio, I was excited.

Bottom line - HORRIBLE!!! And I can’t stress that enough.

Service - was great. Staff very friendly so on that end great job

Food - ribs were burnt and when I say burnt I mean burnt, brisket had a funny chemical taste, same as the beans. Fries were cold, potato salad was ok. The only good thing was the cornbread.

I called and spoke to the manager and expressed my, one, disbelief that it was so bad but two, how are you going to serve food like this to your customers. I asked her who does a quality check of your food? How can you allow customers to pay good money for a meal only to see that it was literally burnt and uneditable. The manager told me that she was going to have thedistrict manager call me but of course no call.

With the price of everything now days, do your self a huge favor and DON’T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ON THIS PLACE. HORRIBLE!

Famous Dave's is a hard pass for this stick burning guy. Ordering in-person was a definite struggle because there was no-one at the counter. After about a 5 minute wait I moved the 6 or 7 feet around the counter to the Carinos counter and got the rolled eye from the lady standing there not doing anything. She took my order: 2 brisket sandwiches, 1 order of fries and we took a seat. 30 minutes in my bride checked on the order and still nothing. Did I mention they were dead for business. They finally brought some orders up where they sat. Again, my wife asked, they checked and our order was there. When we got home, about 3 miles from there, the order was stone cold. Also, my wife's sandwich was nothing but fat. Now I like a little fat, but couldn't eat it. We split the other sandwich. The fries were undercooked and hard as a brick, they went into the trash. There was no smoke ring on the brisket and no smoked taste. It was more like chunks of roast with not enough sauce to taste. I don't know why I went to an Italian place for Q, but it wont...
