Well, I ordered a fat meal for myself and a kid meal for my girl and off bat I was told I couldn't request any veggies on her kid burger. I know the menu says plain, but surely you could accommodated a customer and add lettuce and tomatoes. Why would you not want children to have vegetables? This is odd and doesn't look good for a company considering how people are concerned about health. So I was forced to order a bigger burger for her. I went to a table and actually had to clean it. I was rather surprised that an employee was sitting next to me, he must have noticed the table's condition but didn't care enough to clean it before continuing his break. When we received our burgers, the girl just plopped the food on the table, no smile, didn't say a word after I thanked her and she just swiped the number holder off of the table and walked away. She didn't ask if we needed anything, but like I said, it was rather rude that she didn't reply to my thanks. I noticed they forgot the side of mayo I asked for, so I got up and went back to the counter to request some. The cashier noticed me but she was busy with an ordering customer so I didn't mind so much that she ignored me. The cook was busy cooking and didn't see me. The girl that dropped the food off was at the fryer, she noticed me but ignored me and just walked away through the back door. At this point I was standing there for maybe 3 minutes. The worker who was sitting at the table next to me saw me standing there the whole time but since he was on break, he ignored that I need help. When the girl walked back to the fryer, she took notice of me again but continued to ignore me. The cashier was still busy with a customer. At this point we're going on 4 minutes and the cook finally notices me, I politely asked for a small side of mayo. He handed me a cup with something liquidy and white that tasted more like ranch. He said it was Fat Burger's version of mayo. I swear he was wrong and it was ranch. Oh well. When I got back to my food, everything was cold. I spend the rest of my lunch eating a mediocre and pricey meal. I left rather dissatisfied and was never thanked as I was leaving. Terrible first experience. Red Robin, Chilis, and Applebees all have bigger and better burgers for ten bucks or less and they come with unlimited fries. Left a message for the manager, they never called. I’ll probably...
Read moreSo this was my first time visiting a FatBurger (Alamo Ranch). I was not too familiar with the place, but a new location opened up nearby and thought I’d give it a shot. I ordered the XXL burger with onions rings and a Cookies and Cream shake. The food was decent but I was completely unaware of how large the XXL burger would be. I figured the size of a regular double meat burger, but it seems to be more burger than any person really needs. The food was palatable, but where they lost me was the price. For the mentioned food it cost just under $26. That was beyond expensive for what you get. The burger itself was about $11 while the meal was approximately $18. When you substituted the fries for rings and the drink for a shake, you come to that $26 price point.
With that being said, if I would’ve known how large the burgers actually were, I’d opted for a smaller meal. However, the prices they are charging do not seem reasonable. There are plenty of burger joints in the area and with competition like that, you’d better be able to stay in the game. Either have an amazing and irresistible product, or make prices comparable with those around you. Being that this restaurant is quite small, it would suggest this is meant to be fast food. With that in mind, this store did not have a drive thru which meant you’d have to go inside to order. Though the wait wasn’t long, it still presents itself as a place you’d quickly pick up to eat at home. How could they believe the price seemed reasonable for a fast food product. The burger was not better than one from in and out, just 2 min up the road. The onion rings weren’t tastier than the sonic up the road and the shake was not more delicious than the Chick-fil-A just on the other side of the traffic light. If you wanted to grab a burger, shake, and onion rings you have a burger boy just north of this location, and a Red Robin at the next intersection. Not to mention a Whataburger, all of which cost less than this a fat burger and, aside from the Red Robin, are more convenient as they all have drive thrus. Take this review for what it’s worth as it’s only one guys opinion. I just don’t see the value in visiting more than once. The food is decent from what I’ve tried. Have a great day everyone and you should make your own...
Read moreI went a few weeks ago with my mom and 7 year old son. I ordered the kids meal for him and asked if they could add mustard. They quickly responded "no" and said that of I wanted to add a basic condiment to a kids meal that I would have to upgrade to a small meal which was $4 more.....for mustard. Seriously, mustard....after they told me that I was not allowed to modify toppings on the other burger combos that I ordered. I was already exhausted from that conversation and saying to to "upsells" on those combos that I clearly said no to that I didn't battle the $4 upgrade to mustard. After agreeing to the $4 upgrade to mustard on a kids burger, they then tried to upgrade the $13 kids meal to a large meal because it would be a better deal. Exhausting! Never going to this place again. Nothing special about this place, so many local places in town with better food, options and service. Skip this place, go to Whataburger, Burger Boy, Mr. Juicy, Longhorn, Marks Outing, Bunz... I can go on and on. They ultimately succumbed to me modifying the large combo I ordered, a simple add mayo and remove the tomato and then failed to do so. Also, their mayo is not mayo, I don't know what it was, but the lil ramekin they provided...
