Golden Chick — Restaurant in San Antonio

I wouldn't even leave one star but had too to leave a review..worst ever! And I'm a chicken lover, but I guarantee that I will never come back to this golden chick again. Started off with a rude staff member. In which I have patience because I also work in the food industry, so regardless of how your day is going you just have to be nice and put a smile on your face when you work around ppl. First of all they had no straws..had no ice in the lobby, so when we asked if we could have some..yes she rolled her eyes at us! So my husband asked does it produce ice or do y'all have to refill it, (Mind you my husband worked for golden chicken before) the man that was dressed differently, assuming manager, says no we have to refill it. We were there about 45 minutes to an hour with about 4 different customers ordering and still no ice. Ok..so I then go to the restroom to wash my hands...and of course no soap. They have a sign that says employees must wash hands before returning to work...Ummm..yeah I don't think that they are if they did they would know there wasn't any soap in the container. Lastly..I went to go get a refill before I headed out, still no ice, 2 employees just stare at me not asking if I needed anything! So of course the worker that was putting chicken in a to go box without gloves grabbed my cup..which I know you must wear gloves when handling food..grabs the scoop, pours me ice then goes back to putting more chicken in the to go box. In our house we play a game; will there be zing sauce in our order that we extra paid for? Or not? Spoiler, it’s mostly “or not”. This is SO silly but the amount of times this has happened is hilarious so I finally had to leave a review. I’m not sure what it is about this location specifically but I’m convinced they’re hoarding the zing sauce for a top secret mission because no matter if you get it as a side option (and pay extra) or a gravy replacement in a meal (we’ve tried both methods) they will NEVER give you zing sauce on a delivery order, EVER 😂 I’ve even placed an order on doordash and CALLED, told them my name and my order to be sure they don’t forget the sauce, and no sauce is ever in the order. It’s like a prank vendetta at this point 😂 They’ll give the packets of zing powder (which you can use to try and make zing sauce at home, we’ve tried BECAUSE THEY NEVER GIVE IT) but that’s not what we pay extra for. Anyways, there was also this nasty mold-like residue at the bottom of my diet pepsi tonight and I’m almost positive it’s from a lack of cleaning the drink dispenser tanks. Detail is important and I hope they can pay better attention to orders cause I’d love to continue...

This is the first time I’m leaving negative feedback. Don’t get me wrong, I love Golden Chick, especially their rolls. However, tonight I was really disappointed with how they served me. I ordered a 10-piece fried chicken meal but was told there would be a 20-minute wait because they only had 3 pieces of fried chicken left. Due to heavy traffic and the distance to my work, I couldn’t wait that long. So, I told them I’d take the 3 pieces of fried chicken, and the rest could be roasted chicken instead. I didn’t check the order until I got to work, and to my surprise, when I opened the box, I only received 2 pieces of fried chicken. The rest were tiny drumsticks mixed with half-cut wings. I was so disappointed! I was expecting bigger pieces of chicken, especially for the $38 I paid (including the 2 dozen of rolls). I called and spoke with the manager to explain what happened and asked for compensation because this was unacceptable. To make matters worse, the manager told me not to touch the chicken because I needed to return it to get a refund or replacement.
